Publisher's summary

Featuring Lieutenant Eve Dallas, Remember When blends present-day romance and futuristic suspense in a thrilling two-part novel that combines the incomparable talents of two #1 New York Times bestselling authors: Nora Roberts and her alter ego J. D. Robb.

Antiques dealer Laine Tavish is an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. At least, that's what everyone in the small town of Angel's Gap, Maryland, thinks. They have no idea that she used to be Elaine O'Hara, the daughter of a notorious con man...

Laine's past catches up with her when one of Big Jack's associates turns up in her shop with a cryptic warning and is then run down in the street. Now the next target of a ruthless killer, Laine teams up with sexy PI Max Gannon to find out who's chasing her, and why. The answer lies in a hidden fortune that will change not only Laine's life, but also the lives of future generations - including New York City detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas.

In a future where crime meets cutting-edge technology, Eve is used to traveling in the shadowy corners outside the law. She will attempt to track down the treasure Laine and Max sought once and for all - and stop the danger and death that has surrounded it for decades...

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

Incorrect number

This should really be numbered as 16.5 as the In-Death part of the two books actually occurs before 17 in terms of the progression of the relationship and overall story of Roark and Dallas. Summerset, the butler, is still on vacation, whereas in 17 he returns. So if you listen to it as 17.5, and after 17 as indicated, you will hear that Summerset hasn't returned from vacation yet, even though he returned in 17.

not bad for a romance

Listenable and kept me interested. Certainly not up for an Audie, but it kept me around while I was doing other things. Of course, you have to like the whole romantic mystery genre to put up with it. Not a waste of $15.

A Perfect Blend

Don't buy Big Jack, buy this and you'll get Big Jack and Remember When. I loved how everything came full circle and you got to hear the ending of one story decades in the future. You always read Nora's books and wonder what happened to the characters well now you know and you have your favorite In Death team to help close the case.

A great crossover book

I love this book, it’s one of the better crossover books I’ve read. I often recommend it to friends who have read Nora Roberts’ books, but none of the JD Robb In Death books, or vice versa.

It's Okay, Expected Better

If you could sum up Remember When (includes 'Big Jack': In Death, Book 17.5) in three words, what would they be?

Through my own error, I read Big Jack first. Aside from that, I thought this was okay. Susan Ericksen does a great job as narrator as she does give each character their own voice. However, I'm noticing a pattern in Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb's character designs.

Both Laine Tavish and Eve Dallas are strong, independent women who've had to overcome a rough childhood.

The "Irish" con man or thief you can't help but like if not love.

That lovable, good ol' local boy who helps the heroin.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

A little too neat and tidy for me.

Which scene was your favorite?

I can't recall any particular favorite.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Can't think of one.
