Antiques dealer Laine Tavish is an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. At least, that's what everyone in the small town of Angel's Gap, Maryland, thinks. They have no idea that she used to be Elaine O'Hara, the daughter of a notorious con man...

Laine's past catches up with her when one of Big Jack's associates turns up in her shop with a cryptic warning and is then run down in the street. Now the next target of a ruthless killer, Laine teams up with sexy PI Max Gannon to find out who's chasing her, and why. The answer lies in a hidden fortune that will change not only Laine's life, but also the lives of future generations - including New York City detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas.

In a future where crime meets cutting-edge technology, Eve is used to traveling in the shadowy corners outside the law. She will attempt to track down the treasure Laine and Max sought once and for all - and stop the danger and death that has surrounded it for decades...

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

Love the idea of combining a NR and JDR story

Great idea. I liked both stories, but I'm struggling with how Dallas gets everything right. And how rude she is to everyone around her. Maybe I just need a break from the series, but this wasn't a favorite. also, the narrator changed Dickie's voice. That was unusual.

What a thrill ride

What did you love best about Remember When (includes 'Big Jack': In Death, Book 17.5)?

The back story (Big Jack) was great...intrigue along with romance. Spectacular lead into the second story (Remember When).

What did you like best about this story?

The ending when the rat (Trevor) was caught in the corner with no way out. But he still tried to bargain with Dallas and she turn the tables on him with a lie. He was so close to his prize and she did not let him see the diamonds that he killed for as well as his mean spirit towards his mother/father and grandmother.

Which character – as performed by Susan Ericksen – was your favorite?

Well Max of course with his smooth southern voice, he is every girls dream of a shinning knight. Plus he gave up a small future in reward money because his wife-to-be ask it of him.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending when all the parties (Lane and Max plus the Stephen Whitaker) came together to see the unfolding of the diamonds. The diamonds that were stolen more than an half century before by their parents and cause such pain and heart ache for the offspring.

Any additional comments?

What a roller coaster ride!

2 stories

These two books by Nora Roberts are fantastic. JD Robb series continues, I believe there are 52 or so in this series. Main characters are Eve Dallas a cop 👮‍♀️ in New York, year 2058, I believe the story begins They are who dunnit books 📚. There is. so many characters in this series. The narrator Susan Erickson is the only one that can narrate all the characters in this series. She is fantastic. I started reading the stories/ by hard cover books 📚. When I found them in audible ...such a delight. Start with the first book 📖 and you will be hooked. Listen/read doesn’t matter you will ENJOY 😉

Great!

If you could sum up Remember When (includes 'Big Jack': In Death, Book 17.5) in three words, what would they be?

Simply the Best!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Remember When (includes 'Big Jack': In Death, Book 17.5)?

Nora Roberts writes a great novel.

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

Susan Ericksen is my favorite narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

With the ease of listening to Susan Ericksen's voice and Nora Robert's ability to write a great story line...I think I did listen to it all at once. The thing about these books is that I can listen to them over and over.

both stories were great

Loved both stories and as always love this narrator. I wish we had more time with Big Jack within the stories as he was highly entertaining. I liked how this was resolved on both and how they took us through the ride of the diamond heist and investigations. Highly recommned.

Narrator nearly ruined the story

Love the content but the narrator was awful. She made Peabody sound older than Dallas.
