A tightly wound woman with a secret persona meets a prominent dom who's itching to make her unravel.
Renowned dom Ethan White offers straitlaced Colin Reneaux an escape from her conventional life. Reluctant at first, she eventually agrees to explore her secret desires with BDSM tapas - small bites of erotic d/s scenarios featuring Ethan as her captor, boss, interrogator, professor, and master. Each eye-opening and sex-fueled scene leaves her more breathless than the last.
Ethan's surprised to find himself challenged by Colin's strength. He quickly connects with her inner submissive, drawing them deeper into the d/s dynamic. Soon she becomes the woman he swore he'd never need, and he, the master she craves. Together they find the perfect balance…until someone from Ethan's past returns, someone bent on revenge. Ethan's left with no choice. He must break Colin's heart to save her from the vengeance that threatens her dream.
But Colin has other ideas. Like whose heart should break and who should ultimately surrender…

I believe the story is possibly good but the horrific narration made it impossible to be sure
I love hearing the narrators bring the story to life.
Bonnie brings a voice to the words, and life to the character.
Reluctant Surrender by Riley Murphy was a great read. I loved reading about Ethan and Colin. From the first moment Ethan met Colin, he knew that he wanted to be her Dom. He jumps on the first chance he gets to be her Dom, even if it's just for a little bit. I enjoyed reading them explore Colin's fantasies. This was a great read, I can't wait to read more by Riley Murphy.
no didn't like story line. I only got half through before i had to stop.
not enough character depth for my taste.
Ms. Jones narrated like she had some sort of speaking disorder. My 5 year old reads better than this woman. I enjoyed the story so I attempted to ignore the strange pauses and word inflections. It sounds as if Ms. Jones is reading news broadcast ...like she's reading from a teleprompter. Or maybe this woman has no concept of punctuation. Whatever the issue, it was completely distracting and I found myself constantly having to repeat her words in my head in order to understand what it was the author truly meant to say. Audible, PLEASE FIND A NEW NARRATOR FOR THIS BOOK! It could've been great but was utterly ruined by the current narrator.
I found the story line lacking. Very simplistic. Author isolated the main characters, so almost the entire book is just between the male and female protagonists.
Only after finding reviews that showed she had more character development and a wider reaching story line than shown in this book.
Bonnie Jones' narration almost ruined the whole thing for me. I stopped listening several times and only came back because I did not want to waste the purchase. She pauses in the middle of sentences and puts emphasis on the wrong words in sentences. The speed at which she read the book was too slow for me. I finally found that if I set my reader to play this at 2x speed, I was able to finish the book.
It was a good second series book, it could stand on its own, and it didn't have a cliffhanger ending.
I loved Ethan, he was so smilingly deviant.
Her voice inflection was misplaced, and her depiction of "Domliness" was overexaggerated.
I smiled when things finally fell into place.
Riley writes the best D/s romance stories. Who would think that a writer would school us on proper figging procedures???
