Gideon Cross: As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction…my every desire…mine.
My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful…except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.
We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession.…

"When it comes to brewing up scorchingly hot sexual chemistry, Day has few literary rivals." (Booklist)
Tell us about yourself!
WOW, REALLY??? I would have been done and out already! Too much drama for me! The crap that Gideon does is unforgiveable! She has no balls!!!
3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, but this one just had way too much agnst for me.
I'm a 25 year old mum to my beautiful nearly 2 yr old daughter and i LOVE books , both reading and listening to them :D
ranks in about top 25 % , great listen
you learn more about Gideons past and what happened to him when he was younger.
i think she is a great narrator!!

What a remarkable journey into the lives of Gideon and Eva. The narration was a delight. The book was perfect. Oh how I love thee, let me count the ways:
The Narrator was fabulous, (after listening to this book, now one of my top 3 all time favorites)
The Plot was simply the best, the sexual tension/scenes, the pleasure, the eagerness, the characters, the anxiety, the love, the fulfillment, the laughs, the tears, the longing for the next book. I am now officially obsessed with the Crossfire series.
This book has little (very little) likeness to Fifty Shades of Gray.
My note to publisher and Author:
I hate you for making me wait until June for the next book.
Love a good romance
Up with my favorites
Great would listen to her again
Both books are an emotional roller coaster ride
Love this site! I have a very busy job, so listening to audio books enables me to keep up on great stories!
Really strong voices. Each one has their own story and voice. I love that they didn't blend together.
So this probably defeats the purpose of the book, but I found myself wanting more talk and less sex. Weird hey? I know. In this book we delved more into of Gideon's problems, as well as more of Eva's past. I was rooting for them, and was bothered by sex being the answer to everything for them. However, I am really looking forward to the third book. And by the way...did anyone else see that ending coming? Not me!
Another great book that follows Bared to You. I can not wait to read the rest of the sequels.
Addicted to any type of Romance/Erotica audio books.
I seem to be the only person in the world who isn't enjoying this series. I don't feel any chemistry between the characters. I couldn't get past the whole "we meet, we're in love, we need counseling" all in a month or less. I guess i need more build up and less drama in my books. This book is without a doubt steamy but that's about all it is. I don't hate it, but it's nothing that I will recommend to others.
Say something about yourself!
Both of the books in this series so far have been really difficult for me. The emotions that are being dealt with are very raw and real. Jill Redfield brings them to life so thoroughly that I can't help but feel them, even when I try and distance myself and remind myself that it's just a book.
I still feel like the two main characters use sex too much to keep each other in check and work through things that they should have talked through. But, I'm very happy to say that the latter half of this book started to resolve some of that.
This one has a twist near the end that is surprising and I can see some potential resolution on Eva's side of the story. Gideon's is still a bit of a mystery but at least he's talking about it and she's power through the hard stuff.
I feel better about the potential for a 'happy ending' after this book.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
Yes it was very good. It was a perfect continuation of Bared to You. Sometimes the second book does not stand up to the first book but this one was great. I enjoyed the story.
None that I know of.
I enjoyed everyone.
I like it because we all are flawed in some way and the author did a very good job conveying a very passionate relationship with emotional challenges.
It was well worth the credit. I recommend listening to Bared to You first.
"Getting better by the book"
I'm loved book two. Sylvia Day is keeping you hanging on a string wanting to no where Ava and Gideon are going to end up. The first big hurdle they have got passed but you just no that's going to lead them to more. Also I'm enjoying seeing how some of the smaller but just as interesting people in there lives how there stories are moving along and developing. I'm interested in what will happen to both Kerry and Irland. I also can't wait to see the step brother and Doctor get there come u pence.
Jill Redfield's narration again was brilliant she breaths life and soul into the story and makes it easy to get lost into the world of Ava and Gideon and the colour smell and life of New York.
this series is killing me how can put 2 be better then part one? well it is unbelievable awesome the bizz put 3 here is come
"More dirty, more deliciousnesssss"
How do you stop spelling deliciousnesssss... :-)
Once again, the quality of the writing when compared to 50 Shades is unmistakable.
The plot takes off in unexpected directions and is interesting enough to keep your attention. I was a little surprised by how much I'd invested in the characters when I got all teary eyed.
Quick synopsis: Ava and Gideon continue to stumble around in their relationship, both completely clueless. Things get very shaky when Ava's past comes back to haunt them both and Gideon is forced to do some terrible things to protect her.
There's a wonderful 'nose pressed to the window' feeling when reading about the gorgeous clothes, gorgeous people and gorgeous functions that people with oodles of money attend.
And again... Carey Taylor, Ava's best friend is so, so wonderful. I want me one, just like him!
"new day fan"
Yes really brought the characters to life
Has to b all of it live tray yum. GIGEON MMMM, Ava is every womens advocate.
Has to b this womens inner strength yet vulnerable personality
It follows on nicely from book 1 good story line, could not put it down.
Fifty Shades fo grey.
She really reads this well, and you get so lost in the book you forget that she is reading fictional characters!!!!
"Can't wait for book 3!!"
I couldn't wait to listen to the next installment and wasn't disappointed! The characters drag you into the story further and you fall in love with the depth of love the 2 characters have for each other. The story is left we a big cliffhanger at the end which adds to the suspense for the next book. Narrating good job as always although sometimes her characters can seem to roll into 1 but that only happens a handful of times. I can't wait for number 3.
"Very fifty shades"
If you enjoyed the fifty shades books you will like this but is based on a very close story line but worth a listen to pass time at or on the way to work!!!!!!!!
"Very good read"
I was absolutely glued to this audio book. I couldn't stop listening to it.
I was swept along with Gideon and Ava on their story.
From start to finish I couldn't put it down.
I prefer this book to the fifty shades trilogy which I read on my kindle.
You can feel the emotions with Ava as well as her frustration with Gideon and want them to work out their problems, also very steamy during parts.
I found this book to be even better than 50 shades of grey in character plots and back grounds.
"Scandalous rip off"
I'm surprise that nobody was choked by the end of the book ! The hero become a murder, and everybody, even the police say "thank you" to him ???? Is that the definition of a romantic hero ? Did Sylvia Day and her Editor totally insane ?
It's a shame to compare this book with the brilliant 5 shades of Grey. The first 'bared to you" is just a plagiarism without talent, but this one is depressiv and immoral. Does Sylvia Day and readers really think that one can be a murderer and go to sleep like a baby ? The poor heroïn will married someone who can kill without scrupules and be happy, have baby with him ??? We are defenetly living in a different world.
If you want to read good erotics autors, go listen Olivia Cunning or read Kate Gray, you will find women with a lot of talent and creativity.
However, I must say Jill Redfield made a great job (except for Gideon who speak lige a mafia godfather), it's a pity her talent serve a so creepy story.
