Gideon Cross: As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction…my every desire…mine.
My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful…except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.
We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession.…

"A steamy read that will have you furiously flipping pages." (Glamour)
"When it comes to brewing up scorchingly hot sexual chemistry, Day has few literary rivals." (Booklist)
Friend of God... Saved by grace... Mother of 3 gifts... Wife of one... Worship dancer.... Educated by God, Academia and Willy Wonka...
I will absolutely listen to the narrator. I will likely buy another Day book but not from the Crossfire series. This was painful listening/reading. I cheered for the couple in book 1. In this book, I just wanted them to cut their loses and move on! Move on! No real relationship can stand that amount of dysfunction and nothing is ever solved by sex and then more sex and then more sex. Does that make the book bad? I had to think about this for a minute... Yes. If the characters are unrealistic and nothing about them touches you at all, it makes the book bad.
Day tried to make the sex scenes carry the entire story. A little believable story with the sex would have been nice.
The scenes in North Carolina were blissful.
No it was not.
love, Love, LOVE BOOKS!!!
Have to say you definitely get what you are looking for in the romance department. The novel series is light on the story line but weighty in the bedroom. Not that it is a bad thing, but it is what it is. I do have to compliment the author. The story was nicely told and paces itself well.
Geek with a love of fantasy. I stray to erotics at times and love biografies, but thoose i read. Motto: dishes cant be done without audible.
No. the good vibes from the first book did not follow through to the second and the third was a total dissaster!
no becuae i tried three and i got dissapointed
i have no clue. the book annoyed me so i hardly remember the narrator because the plot was so thin
lively characters and more reliable story
I am entranced by these novels.....They aren't just about sex, but about two grown ups learning to love each other while still finding themselves. I enjoy these books so much better than the 50 shades series....It feels as if the "Crossfire" series was written for adults, ones that have real problems and live in the real world. The story line is wonderful and so sad at the same time. I could not stop listening. Definitely an A+
He did what?!?
In the first book we met Gideon and he was distant, cold, economical. By the end of book one, we sort of know better, but only barely. In this book we finally get to see who he is, inside, because of Eva. He is no longer a cold calculating billionaire, he is molten lava hot for Eva and will do anything, I repeat, ANYTHING, for her. I liked the angsty feelings that dredged up whilst reading this. It had been a while since I read book one and two and I am re-reading these before I begin book three. I forgot just how awesome Gideon is.
Her smooth voice and slight character changes can almost make the words play out like a movie in your head.
It's a re-read for me so I pretty much knew what was coming. However, the fact that Brett happens to be in love with Eva when she was thinking this whole time she was just one of the many girls he was having was bittersweet. ***SPOILER BELOW***When Gideon sees them kissing he charges and attacks Brett, and even though she didn't start the kiss and had just pulled away realizing it's ONLY Gideon she wants, you have to wonder what this now means for Eva and Gideon..."I'd caused that. I had turned the warm, wickedly playful man who'd enchanted me all evening into the cold murderous fighter in front of me."And then the ride in the limo after they pick Gideon back up...Holy Hotness...*fanning face*...WOW! He asks her over and over "Why, Eva?" and she tells him "I don't know" and a sexual battle ensues and she finally breaks down. That was intense!
Read this series!!! It's awesome!
This second book did not disappoint me I am hooked on them. I know everyone loves the 50 set of books but for me this one is far better and a little more believable for me. I could not relate to the others as well. (Not that they were not great)
OK, so if you liked book 1, book 2 is much the same. I love that Ava is a strong female character with her own opinions. She's not perfect and she makes mistakes. The overall story is pretty good. However, what keeps me coming back to this series is the narrator. She does an amazing job with this book. She brings another fantastic performance in her reading of this book. I'll be buying whatever she reads!
Avid book reader & addicted to audio books
Not in my top ten, but a good series by Syliva Day. Jill Redfield is a great narrator and looking forward to listening to more from her.
Eva and Gideon
Gideon of course ;)
I discovered that this isn't really my genre and i probably shouldn't have picked this title. It was a learning experience. The book didn't seem bad, its just not the type of thing I enjoy
Say something about yourself!
Eva - I love the way that Jill Redfield portrays Eva. She brings a real passion to the love scenes without making them cheesy.
I truly believe that The Crossfire books are a better series than 50 Shades. I love both, but these are my favorite audiobooks. Jill Redfield's performance is wonderful!
