Publisher's summary

Violet Jacobs is fearless. At least, that's what the cowboys she snatches from under the hooves of bucking horses think. Outside the ring, she's got plenty of worries rattling her bones: her young son, her mess of a love life, and lately, her family's struggling rodeo. When she takes business into her own hands and hires on a hotshot bullfighter, she expects to start a ruckus.

She never expected Joe Cassidy.

Joe came to Texas to escape a life spiraling out of control. He never planned on sticking around, and he certainly never expected to call this dry and dusty backwater home. But Violet is everything he never knew he was missing, and the deeper he's pulled into her beautiful mess of a family, the more he realizes this fierce rodeo girl may be offering him the one thing he never could find on his own. Contains mature themes.

Would have been a good book??

This would have been a good book however the author uses the "f" word every sentence and the cussing was awful. I've lived in Texas all my life and believe me ,even at the rodeos the cowboys don't use language like this book has. Very disappointed that I spent over $20.00 for this book. Will not be buying any more of Kari Lynn Dell's books

Story is good.

I like the book itself. I will read the rest of the series. I'm not sure what it is about the reader, but her voice is flat. Also, the flow of her reading is not smooth. Her voice is not expressive, so monotone.

Could Not Get Into It

I am rating it a 2 to be generous in the hope that it got better. I kept trying to listen hoping it would improve but I finally gave up at chapter 10. Too slow for me. Where was the plot? The details about grocery store food, glaring at cookies and anger at the cantaloupe set me over the edge.

A great bullfighter and bull riding story

I like the storyline of this book and I like the way the characters were portrayed. I wish the ending was a little better but I still liked the book anyway.

Narration Ruined It

I really was looking forward to listening to this book after a few folks recommended it. However, as much as I tried to get into the book I couldn’t follow any of the storyline due to the horrible narration. I listen to audiobooks very frequently and I have never had to return a book because of the narration before.

The narrator puts on a horrible fake southern accent that really distracts from the storyline. And her voice is incredibly monotone throughout. The only inflection you hear is when she messes up a pronunciation of a word while trying to accomplish a southern drawl.

Perhaps purchase the book and read it, but definitely avoid the audio version. I’ve had an audible subscription for years and this is the first book I’ve ever had to return due to narration. Overall a disappointing experience.

Best rodeo series

I've read a lot of contemporary western romance books and this series is by far the best. The audio books do it justice. if you enjoy Violet and Joe's story you will love how Ms. Dell continues to develop all the characters we're been introduced to plus a few new ones. I also appreciate the accurate and detailed description of the rodeo world.

Reckless In Texas

The audiobook Reckless In Texas by Kari Lynn Dell was amazing! The book was excellent. The narrator was great and you were able to follow along well. Did a great job of keeping you interested. It ties in with other audiobooks in the series.

Storyline Was Fantastic, Narrator Not So Much

The novel was good and I probably would have enjoyed it more if I read it myself. The narrator made the novel seem dull, lifeless.

Weak narration!

I couldnt finish this book, the narration was almost like an automated voice. Maybe I can just read it since I’ve purchased. I will make sure I sample from now on before purchasing!

Rodeos and cowboys

Good story with just the right amount of drama... and a cute kid. The h was a tad whiny but still a good story.
