Publisher's summary

Scandalized professor Maggie Cisco returns to her hometown to lick her wounds and reconsider her future. Her years of personal and professional research into the BDSM lifestyle has landed her in jail, in divorce court and now in the headlines of more newspapers than she cares to count. The worst of all? The entire debacle is being blamed on a bestselling book she hasn't even read!

Just when she thinks her only solution is a tell all memoir, a snowstorm puts her in the path of stunningly handsome, insanely rich and equally intense Tucker Lewis.

Tucker remembers Maggie well. They once shared a mind-numbing kiss at the annual St. Mary's carnival when her boyfriend wasn't looking. No stranger to scandal, he looks past public opinion to the submissive craving a master's touch and decides then and there what he wants. He's going after Maggie and her heart's kinkiest desires.

Unfortunately, no amount of money can change the sins of the past and when they're certain they know everything there is to know about each other, one discovers a secret they aren't prepared for.

Very pleasant.

A great story with intricate plots that weave together into a totally unexpected but believable climax. The characters developed as the setting in Northern Minnesota is brought to life as a worthy backdrop to this excellent book. The author's knowledge of the first American tribes brings them sensitively into the plot. The wide compass of this story makes it a compelling listen.

Tucker's Fall

If you could sum up Purgatory Masters: Tucker's Fall in three words, what would they be?

I'm somewhere between a 3½ to 4✯ on this one so I'm going to round up. I really enjoyed the premise and the pace of the story. Maggie had been dealt a really bad series of blows and came back to her home town to lick her wounds and regroup. Tucker had known Maggie in his youth and even shared a passionate, albeit brief, kiss with her. After finding out about her return, and what drive her to return, he decides to make her his… which he does fairly quickly. But the secrets of their lives encroach on their relationship and threaten their future together. And although Tucker's Fall ends with a fairly happy Tucker and Maggie, secrets still divide them, although Maggie doesn't know it yet.

The only challenge that I had with the book was that details seemed to be missed. Katie, Quinn, and Leo appear in Roped but the story is so abbreviated that it doesn't explain how they came to be in Tucker's Fall. The connection between the stories needed to be stronger. I enjoyed the secondary characters in this book and will most definitely enjoy reading about Nina and Mason. All in all, a solid series starter.

This was read as an audiobook and the narrator was decent although she had limited range for the male characters.

What other book might you compare Purgatory Masters: Tucker's Fall to and why?

Shadowlands by Cherise Sinclair but a less cohesive version

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

See above about the narrator's male range.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No

Disappointed

I was very disturbed that the audible book does not match the ebook. Chapters are numbered differently. Characters names are different. Big chunks of the chapters are missing and even words are changed. This is the only reason I gave it 3 stars overall.

So Good!

Where to even start? This story was incredible, Tucker and Maggie are an incredible couple. From their mutual stubbornness to their raw need of one another. I won't give too much away but it's a must read.

Good content.

You will have more sense of the profundity of this book if you listen to the author’s story in the last paragraph first! What a terrific book

Hot master!

I was a bit concerned at the beginning. Not sure if it was the quality of the recording but it was a bit noisy or breathy. But after the first few minutes it was gone. Loved the story of Tucker and Maggie. There are still a few unanswered questions about Tucker's past that I hope are brought to late in the following books. The narrator did a great job with the voices.
Looking forward to starting the next book!
