Publisher's summary

After a massacre decimates half his team and leaves him crippled, Jaxon Law must relearn how to fight-and battle the anger and guilt threatening to overwhelm him. But when he rescues a beautiful woman who awakens his primal instincts, Jax is unprepared for the dangers that lie ahead.

On the run from her employer, brilliant lab assistant Kira Locke has evidence that leads the Alpha Pack on a hunt for someone targeting human civilians with Psy abilities. And as Jax and Kira circle both the killer and each other, Jax will have to decide if the deep connection he feels with Kira is worth breaking the ultimate shifter rule-because bonding with Kira means putting his abilities at risk, and they might be the only tools he has to keep his mate alive.

Hoping the Series Gets Better.....

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The Narrator!

Would you recommend Primal Law to your friends? Why or why not?

Not really! Maybe to those who need a paranormal fix; but only as a last resort.

How could the performance have been better?

Alright book but could have been better

To be perfectly honest I had mixed feelings about this book. I had trouble getting past the halfway point but after that I liked it alright. The first half of the book was very iffy for me. I really didn't like the way Jax acted at all. He was being a total jerk and not treating his mate, Kira, very well at all (both before and after he started realizing she was his mate). I almost stopped the book in disgust when Jax decided to go get laid by some other woman because he couldn't deal with the feelings building for Kira. He couldn't seem to decide if Kira was too good for him or couldn't be trusted because she's a woman and he'd been burned before. Then, when he finally changed his mind it was like magic... with no real indication of what caused the sudden turn around. One moment he's fighting it and then the next all he wants is her and is upset because she might not want him.

I liked Kira but thought she was way to easy on Jax when he was acting like a total dweeb-head. After Jax stopped being a jerk the book got better and I liked (although I can't say more than liked) the last half of the book. At the end of the first half of the book I would have given the book 2 stars at best. Because the second half was decent I'll give it 3 stars overall but that's as high as I can go. However, because of the struggle it was to get through the first half of the book I have no inclination to read any more in the series (even though this book did end in a bit of a cliff hanger).

Kirsten Potter did a wonderful job with the narration of the book. My only issue with the book was the content and not the narration.

Wonderful..

Any additional comments?

I bought this book yesterday afternoon and couldn't put it down until I finished it. Loved Jax and Kira. And I loved Chup-Chup and Sariel, great secondary characters. Wonderful story of betrayal, love, sex, murder and excitment throughout the book.

As always, Kirsten Potter was terrific..

Gotta love a shifter!!

Kirsten Potter always does an excellent job of narrating a story. She's a favorite. this is the first JD Tyler book I've listened to. I must say I'm looking forward to listening to the next book in the series. The story left off at a good place. There are a number of characters with stories behind the scenes. I like this as you know it's preparing you for another book.
Gotta...go buy the next in the series. You'll enjoy this one.

I never thought I would say these words

More Action less Sex, I'm no prude but when almost every other chapter is about the H&H going at it and you crave a plot or action....uhmm yeah not that great to me.

Action and Sex Appeal

What did you love best about Primal Law?

It had just enough action and steamieness to catch and hold your interest. Although the women are out muscled they can hold there own. It was a little brittle at times but not to bad.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Primal Law?

When the heroin chose to give her life for the solider.

What does Kirsten Potter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

the voice leads you to look for intrige.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, in fact I think I finished it in two days.

Interesting story but...

I thought the execution could have been much better. The dialogue was not great - I didn't think it flowed smoothly or that it felt realistic in some scenes (especially the love the scenes). The dialogue got pretty porntastic during the love scenes which made me wish those scenes were shorter.

I thought the plot/idea of the story was great, and I did get invested in the characters at the beginning of the book. But again, I thought the overall story could have been better. There were several inconsistencies, I thought. Like finding out one of the characters never smiles/expresses much since she became a widow. That it was obvious from how she is now that she was content and happy before. And then later the main character thinks she's apprehensive because her mate may be alive and their pairing wasn't ideal by any means? That seems very contradictory to me.

The narrator was okay, though there were certain scenes where I thought she kept trying to put a little too much emphasis on words to try to convey feeling even though she didn't need to.

Would I read/listen to another book in this series? I would probably give it another chance. And I did get invested in the characters, so I'd like to know what happens to some of them. I just hope that the dialogue gets a little better in the next one.

Hmmm...Twilighty...

This book, and I will assume the series are along the lines of Twiglight. However, this book is not for the teens when it comes to desribing the sex scenes. I may listen to the other books, but no one right after the other. The story line is different, but again it makes me think of Twilight and Fifty Shade mixed up with eachother. Oddly, I read both the Twilight and Fifty Shades series and liked both of them very much. I'm just not sure why this book did not entertain me as much. It might be due to the paranormal aspects of the book. I'm not sure.

Good story

Not your typical shifter story. Found it super enjoyable and liked that there are other paranormal creatures.
