After a massacre decimates half his team and leaves him crippled, Jaxon Law must relearn how to fight-and battle the anger and guilt threatening to overwhelm him. But when he rescues a beautiful woman who awakens his primal instincts, Jax is unprepared for the dangers that lie ahead.
On the run from her employer, brilliant lab assistant Kira Locke has evidence that leads the Alpha Pack on a hunt for someone targeting human civilians with Psy abilities. And as Jax and Kira circle both the killer and each other, Jax will have to decide if the deep connection he feels with Kira is worth breaking the ultimate shifter rule-because bonding with Kira means putting his abilities at risk, and they might be the only tools he has to keep his mate alive.

"[Fans] will fall head over heals for the Alpha Pack!" (Angela Knight, New York Times best-selling author)
Audiobooks are relaxing and 'food for the soul'.
Not really! Maybe to those who need a paranormal fix; but only as a last resort.
Find another paranormal series.
I was enjoying the book, but it didn't end. The next book is like the next chapter, and I hate when they force it on you. Lucky the next was available just a few days after I finished first. After I finished the second, found the same ploy in place. Found I no longer cared to see how it ends. Not a bad story, but got bored with the same stuff.
This is a terrific series, and a good twist on typical shifters. J D Tyler has a couple of more books in print with more in the pipeline. I hope there isn't' a long wait for the rest. Kalen blossoms but is in for a surprise, but that's all I'm gona say. There are more twists and turns to come. Kirsten Potter doesn't disappoint and portrays the guys and their banter really well. I hope she does the rest of the series - soooooon!
For the first book in the series this was great a little love sex and action. Has a good ending and a great setup for the serise. I'm looking forward to each team member finding there mates and wins the war.
One review said too much explicit sex, and I was like great! But there really can be too much of a good thing. Seems like the author was just like oh I haven't talked about sex for a while I'll just add some here.
I liked the institute storyline. I hated the oversex dialogue, inner monologue, etc. I prefer romance I didn't realized I was going to hear the inner thoughts of adolescent males fantasy. Just skip the oversex parts and get to the real story. This book makes BDB seem G rated.
No just this series.
Kira I guess. The narrator does a good job overall.
Actual romance. This book is all sex and no seduction or romance.
If you like romance, seduction, that loving feeling in your books, skip this one.
Great Listen... I would recommend for adult only, lots of sex (graphically described) scenes. Only enhances the story. AND They bite. ;-): The soldiers were bitten by rabbit dogs or who knows what type shifter wolf, during a Navy Seal mission and left to self destruction, however the survived are now employed by a private sector of the government. Many did not make it and one is still left mad. After the dust clears, their story begins...
Alpha pack instills hope, perseverance for a better life, along with finding their mates. Albeit with their weaknesses, they embrace their skills mostly upon finding of their mates.
Along with their 200-yr old silver leader who has future sight & remains mysterious. Hopefully, we'll get his story.
After purchasing the first, I purchased one at a time and enjoyed every single minute of all.
The characters are well developed and personable.
yes. because it's a good read
no. Didn't like how forced the story was.
Nurse, mom, loved to read....but now I love to listen. When I retire I hope to hear waves crashing in 1 ear and audible in the other!
Lots of action, love and shapeshifter heat...if you know what I mean! I haven't listened to k.
potter in such a long time I have forgotten how much I have missed her. This woman can read a sex scene better than anyone...her words will melt you!
I have vision problems so I have not read the print version. I just love the variety of audio books available from audible.com so that I can continue to enjoy "reading"!
I enjoyed the part where the Kira was playing with the pack and all of a sudden had sharp pains and went through the agony of becoming a wolf. It was told really well!
No, this is the first book that I've listened to Kirsten Potter.
I enjoyed the entire book (after the first 2 chapters)....
Now that I've listened to the 2nd book and halfway through with the 3rd book, I can honestly say that this is an excellent series!!! Well worth the credits!!
