Publisher's summary

#1 New York Times bestselling author J.R. Ward explores what really happens when good and evil toy with humanity in her new novel of the Fallen Angels, as the salvation of a doomed soul depends once again on a crossroads....

When Cait Douglass resolves to get over her broken heart, throw off her inhibitions, and start really living, she's unprepared for the two sensual men who cross her path. Torn between them, she doesn't know which to choose - or what kind of dire consequences could follow.

Jim Heron, fallen angel and reluctant savior, is ahead in the war, but he puts everything at risk when he seeks to make a deal with the devil - literally. As yet another soul is unwittingly caught in the battle between him and the demon Devina, his fixation on an innocent trapped in Hell threatens to sidetrack him from his sacred duty....

Can good still prevail if true love makes a savior weak? And will a woman's future be the key, or the curse, for all of humanity? Only time, and hearts, will tell.

She's done it again!

Would you listen to Possession again? Why?

Yes, Even with the heros being bigger than "real life" and some plot lines evident early in the book, J R Ward is always a good and interesting read. I find something that I missed earlier. Jim and the boys rock, Devina is twisted just enough, where else can you find a demon with OCD?

What other book might you compare Possession to and why?

The BDB series, interesting plot twists

What does Eric Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Besides being sexy cool, there is no way I could hold my interest. his voice is what is needed.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Cissy returning home for the visit

Any additional comments?

I look forward for JR Wards books. I frequently repeat listening or read the books in Bed.

The best yet.....

What did you love best about Possession?

I loved this book and hate it it a little because it left me wanting more!!!!! I can't believe I have to wait a whole year for the next one =( The story is the best because I didn't know what was going to happen & then other things happened that I could not believe were possible.

I have been following Jim's journey for years and I love the little crossing the the BDB characters but this book is the best I've read so far.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Devina. I just love her & her OCD!

What about Eric Dove’s performance did you like?

The deep voice he gives the male characters

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I could not stop listening =)

another great story for the series.

Only flaw was with how Divina relished a hood ornament with Jim's blood on it... Please.. she had him chained and tortured in previous books. Did she really need a hood ornament with Jim's blood on it! She could have a whole toolbox of metal tools with parts of Jim on them the way he has let her whip him in the past....

Confused.....

Although I do love this series, I am a little confused as to whats up with Jim, Im not sure where Ms.Ward is taking the storyline, I thought he was to save 7 souls, but its more like saving one soul who was not one of the 7.
As always Eric Dove narration is perfect and I look forward to the next book.

Really Enjoy This Series!

Not much to add from other reviewers who also love this terrific series. I totally enjoy the Devina demon with her wardrobe, obsessions and OCD! And going to see her therapist---so inspired and funny!
Loved the two men who vied for Cait's attention. And who doesn't love our main angel, Jim? And all the goings-on with heaven, hell and all those sexy angels.
One of the most charming things about this book is the funny and clever shorthand speak of all the characters! I wish I could remember them, but it's kind of like "ops" for "operation".
Eric Dove is so perfect for this material. His tone and inflection has just enough sexiness, bravado and feeling to suit each character.

Ward does it again!

Would you consider the audio edition of Possession to be better than the print version?

I would give them equal credit. Audio is awesome when I am driving or at work and can't read, but I will always read a book over listening to the audio if I am able.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jim Herron - his character has so much depth.

What about Eric Dove’s performance did you like?

I like that they are using the same narrator throughout the series so far. Although I feel that his voice sounds a little old for the Jim I picture in my head.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

I absolutely love J.R. Ward - I have yet to come across one of her books I did not thoroughly enjoy.

Possession A Novel fo the Fallen Angels.

The Possession A Novel of the Fallen Angels. It was the beginning of another fighting for another soul after the second chance on Matthias. Jim became very vengeful for the result, with Matthias and his lady friend having another opportunity for life. Jim became very annoyed with the outcome of Sissy Barthian. Who was very innocent and had lived her life doing all the right things, including stopping to help who she believed was an Elderly person. During shopping time, only for her to be kidnapped and killed for the protection of her evil mirror. Jim decided to make a deal with Devina by giving her one of his win in exchange for getting back Sissy. But it was not taken well by the other Angels, including the Angels that are watching the Manse of souls. This decision by Jim caused Nigel to take his own life, and it is against the will of the creator. Angels were not allowed to take an easy way out of the war or their responsibilities or out of the fight to save the remaining soul. Jim did not only make a wrong decision but also was very distracted in the war, which lead to them losing this round. Now that they have lost this round, Jim now knows that his love for Sissy was again his doings. He should have believed that God was going to take care of all things. His failure not focusing on the fight for the next soul led to their loss on this round, chasing the wrong soul.
