Publisher's summary

There are sensuous pleasures that can only be tasted in the night....

He comes to her in the twilight between sleep and consciousness to fulfill her secret desires. Lyssa Bates has never experienced such ecstasy, brought to her by a man whose deep, soul-penetrating blue eyes hold the promise of tempting intimacies and decadent pleasures. But this stranger, this lover, this immortal seducer is only a dream - a phantom of her nocturnal fantasies - until he appears, inexplicably, at her door in the flesh!

Lyssa aches for the reality of him, but there is grave danger in surrender. Because Captain Aidan Cross is on a mission, and the passion that consumes them both, body and soul, could have dire consequences in a world of dreams...and in the waking one as well.

Not her best work.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was OK, but I think I would have enjoyed re-listening to one of her other stories.

Would you recommend Pleasures of the Night to your friends? Why or why not?

No, I would recommend her Georgian and Crossfire series.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Shana Savage?

I was neither impressed, nor turned off, with the narrator.

Was Pleasures of the Night worth the listening time?

If I had not already listed/read Georgian or Crossfire series, I would have said "Maybe?".

Wasn't sure but worth the try

I was not sure about this book at first as it seemed outside of Day's realm but I'm glad I gave it a try. I love Sylvia Day and I'm also a fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon. Pleasures of the Night offered me the best of both! Hot story with a dose of fantasy science fiction tossed in. The narrator's voice was great for the female parts but not the best fit for the males. "Hot Stuff" just didn't sound right in the voice the narrator used. However, I was able to get around the voices as I got caught up in the story line.

Hot🔥🔥🔥

I read this book when it first came out and loved the paranormal twist on dream guardians! Listening with the lyrical accent was the best. The story does carryover into book 2 I can’t wait to listen.

SYLVIA DAY NEVER FAILS TO HAND ME THE UNEXPECTED

Any additional comments?

Once again, Day weaves a world of fantasy that never ceases to surprise and captivate. The concept of dream guardians and dimensional travel is well laid out and explained. I appreciate that Day kept this first book connected to it's main characters while also setting the stage for the series. Compared to some of her other works, this books isn't quite so blatantly erotic, but is still sexy and not for those easily scandalized. I guess, if you're reading in this genre then you should know this already.

The narration was okay, although the accents were a bit exaggerated at times and I would have chosen someone like Jill Redfield or Tavia Gilbert for a series like this one -- a series with a plethora of both male and female characters needing definite vocal distinction. With books like these, it's imperative that each character is easily distinguishable especially since the characters weave in and out of all the books -- connected in some way to each. Narration can easily make or break a series like this and for me, the decision to purchase the series as a whole had more to do with my appreciation for the author than because I felt that I just couldn't wait to listen.

Snooze

I could barely get through the book. Narrator was monotonous and possibly the worst character accents ever.

fun.. most exciting

to listen to this story was nice. adventure, intellect, & loving sexuality. I love falling in love.
it helps when there's a mystery involved, knowing that when the mystery is learned... the love doesn't die, it continues as a team now instead. I enjoyed this story. can't wait to read the next.
