Publisher's summary

In a place where ecstasy can cost you your life....

She's a demon-slayer who hungers for sensual pleasure - but fears it will always be denied her, until Tayla Mancuso lands in a hospital run by demons in disguise, and the head doctor, Eidolon, makes her body burn with unslakable desire. But to prove her ultimate loyalty to her peers, she must betray the surgeon who saved her life.

Two lovers will dare to risk all.

Eidolon cannot resist this fiery, dangerous woman who fills him with both rage and passion. Not only is she his avowed enemy, but she could very well be the hunter who has been preying upon his people. Torn between his need for the truth and his quest to find his perfect mate before a horrific transformation claims him forever, Eidolon will dare the unthinkable - and let Tayla possess him, body and soul.

Nice start

A very interesting world within the world tale this author has woven. As with most series, it takes a little to understand what makes up this world and the characters within it. But once the reader begins to comprehend this demon world within the human world and delves into the character make ups and conflict, you can't help but become immersed in the storyline. Eidolon had me from the start. Tayla....she had to grow on me. There are so many intriguing beings running around the hospital that it is easy to see many storyline spring boarding from this. Nice start

I Love T and E!!

This was my first book of this type and I must admit that it was unexpected. It was truly not what I thought. I learned a lot about the worldly dimensions through the characters. They were very passionate about their lives and how they chose to live it. I love how the narrator spoke through Tayla’s fears and her emotional outburst. I love the story of two sworn enemies, through fate, were brought together against all they believed. And the sex isn’t bad either, lol!

The narration was pretty good and very believable. The inflections were right on queue which made for a more believable story. I can’t wait to pick up the next book in the series. I want to read more about T and E as well as the other demons in the book. The y seem to have an interesting story to tell.

Entertaining

I like the story but I've always loved almost anything read by Tavia Gilbert. She truly makes the stories come to life.

Great audiobook, loved it.

Very good story, couldn't stop listening. Loved the characters and the story line. You need to pay attention to learn the demon types and keep up with the story.

I won't call it Paranormal Porn, but...

This book is totally hot! I'm a librarian who happens to be a huge paranormal romance (ahem) fan, and this book was exactly what I was looking for. If you like J. R. Ward, Kim Harrison, or Jessica Andersen's "Nightkeepers" series, you'll love the Demonica books. We recently purchased them for our library upon my recommendation!

Love this book but narrator could be better

I absolutely love this book and series. I wish the narrator was better, however. Sometimes her voice makes you think the character is a 5 year-old girl. Other than that I have read this book at least 3 times and just listened to it on audible. It still rocks!

Larissa Ione - One of My New Favorite Authors!

This is the first book that I have listened to/read from Larissa Ione, and she is now on my list of "must reads." I got the book due to the good reviews from some women who I follow, and it was totally worth the credit. This is the first book in the Demonica series. Please note that the first two hours of the book are complex and a bit hard to follow due to the number of characters and the various kinds of demons, but stick with it, because it is totally worth it. Eidolon, the main male character, is a totally hot, doctor demon, and Tayla, is a demon-slayer, who fallas for Eidolon, as she discovers a dark secret about herself. Larissa is a great writer, and the story was compelx and interesting with twists and turns, and great promise for the next books in the series. After this book, I downloaded the other books in the series and I can't wait to listen!

Amazing read!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I sure would, great story and steamy of course!

What other book might you compare Pleasure Unbound to and why?

Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld books, just a little :)

Which character – as performed by Cassandra Campbell – was your favorite?

I have to say she wasn't my favorite narrator, and am a little sad that the rest of the series is done by a narrator I really can't stand.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not.
