Publisher's summary

Gabriel Tauhou, the leader of the silver dragons, can't take his eyes of May Northcott - not even when May, who has the unique talent of being able to hide in the shadows, has slipped from everyone else's sights.

May, however, has little time for Gabriel - not when she's hiding from the Otherworld law, hunting down a blackmailer, and trying to avoid a demon lord's demands. But her ability to withstand Gabriel's fire marks her as his mate, and he has no intention of letting her disappear into the darkness she seems to prefer.

May is ordered to steal one of Gabriel's treasures - an immensely important relic of all dragonkin - and he must decide which to protect: his love or his dragons.

love it

Can't wait to start the next book in the series. I thought I might not enjoy this since I started with the books after silver dragons still loved it.

Playing with Fire: Silver Dragons, Book 1

I enjoyed the book although I didn't realize at first that it downloaded in two segments. I am extremely disappointed that you don't have books 2 and 3. How can you only stock book and one and four in a series? I truly hope this doesn't represent your service going forward!

Good but the story continues in Book 2 and 3

I thought this was a really good start to a series. There were references to things that I didn't understand but must have been covered in other series. However that didn't detract from my enjoyment of this book. It had a good storyline, it was funny, lots of different characters and I'm ready to listen to Book 2.

Well That Was Different

Realistically, this book isn't going to appeal to everyone. But for those who enjoy paranormal romance, dragon shifters, mages, a cast full of quirky characters, and a mystery with a rom-com style that doesn't take itself too seriously--this is a fun read. It is a crazy story that takes the reader on an outrageous roller coaster ride full of LOL moments and face-palming dialogue. As if the "regular" supernatural characters weren't enough (i.e.- dragons, mages, naiads, dopplegangers, imps, etc), there's also a demon in the body of a Newfoundland dog. He not only talks, he has a fondness for all things related to bodily functions and sex; especially raunchy sex. He has no filter on his not-so-little talking doggie snout, and is generally completely inappropriate--and quite hysterical.

Interestingly enough, while the dog loves to talk about sex, and there are several seriously hot love scenes in the novel, one thing the reader won't find is adult language. The author has enough creativity to allow her characters to express themselves without the usual adult language so prevalent these days. Pretty refreshing. But before you go thinking this is a sweet romance story, be aware that the love scenes are still pretty steamy. They're not erotica, simply a bit more fiery than what would be found in a sweet romance. But hey, Gabriel is a dragon after all...

One more note for the reader, this novel is not the end of the story. It does end with a very angsty cliff-hanger *sigh.* Just go prepared. I hate surprises like that. It's a fun story if you'll let go and not take it too seriously. As for the romance: Yum. Gabriel is a solid keeper.

I'm returning it

The pieces don't fit and it's a really dull story. More importantly, it has a terrible ending. And, the narrator sounds too old and her inflection is off. It's a big disappointment because I normally love her work.

DEAD ENDING

characterizations were shallow (no depth to their being) slow action to storyline and abrupt ending to narration with not a hint of continuity.
