Publisher's summary

Infamous for satisfying his limitless wants and desires, Christopher is a free man again. And this time he’s on a mission to engage, deceive, and seduce the one woman as ruthless as he is when it comes to dangerous games of passion.… Far from innocent in the ways of men, Maria is one step ahead of Christopher’s every move. It doesn’t mean she isn’t enjoying every delicious look, every unbridled kiss, every moment of abandon. Neither of them could have imagined the moment when they would meet their match - or that they would surrender to each other again and again.…

Fabulous, Scintillating and Memorable

The story is complex and intriguing - and at times, a little confusing, especially with all of the male characters. Still a very good and extremely pleasurable listening experience. The narrator is amazing - she creates nuances in the characters that are detailed enough to instantly set the characters apart from each other.

Lovely Historical-Type Romance

Would you listen to Passion for the Game again? Why?

No, but it was a good listen. I'm just not into those type of romance novels like I used to be, but sometimes I find one that is outstanding that makes me want to read it over and over, but this isn't one. Like I said, it's a good listen. It's worth a listen.

Any additional comments?

I think I would wait until it's on sale (which I did) and save my credit. Not because it's bad, it's good, but I enjoy a different genre of book more. I do like this type of book but it really has to be exceptional for me to say it's worth a credit.

This was my second trip through this book

And I still loved it. The intrigued, the mystery, the passion, the heartache... It all comes together to make for a sexy and smart read/listen.

I’m loving this series

This story was much better than the first one. Maria was a force to be reckoned with. She definitely wasn’t your typical pushover. She was smart, brave, intelligent, witty, and a true vixen. Christopher her spy/love interest was no match for Maria, although he tried. He had his moments but whenever he thought for sure he had the upper hand Maria in true fashion would turn the table on him. Loved how he craved for her. He couldn’t use sex to get what he wanted but it didn’t stop him from trying. The sex scenes were wonderfully done, hot and intense.

More Intrigue Than A Soap Opera

There were so many angles and players in this book that, especially as an audible, it was almost hard to keep everybody's goals and schemes straight. Person A is playing Person B who is Playing Person C but Person A is also Playing Person D and B and so on and so forth. The central romance was interesting in that Maria could absolutely hold her own. She was just as capable, even more so in many cases, than the male characters. She was not sexually timid or inexperienced. She embraced her sexuality and was not ashamed of it which is refreshing, especially in a historical romance.

I do have issue with male characters who are jealous and expect the woman to be exclusive only to them but then turn around and have sex with someone else. It's beyond aggravating.

It was ok

Would you try another book from Sylvia Day and/or Justine Eyre?

yes

Do you think Passion for the Game needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

no

Any additional comments?

The story line is different from most but I found I could fall asleep to the book and was able to do other things while listening. It was a good book. Interesting story. Don't know if it was worth the price but worth a credit. I guess I had read too great of a book before this one, so my words are a bit droopy. The story just was just slow in content (bed play was nice) and needed more action instead of it hovering over weather they wanted to trust each other. This book had the potential to be great.
