Lost in the woods...

Marlee Peters is tired of putting her dreams on hold. So when her friends can't continue on a long-anticipated hike through Yellowstone National Park, she goes on without them. But Marlee isn't alone in the woods: She is being hunted by a pack of frighteningly intelligent wolves. When a fight for survival takes an impossible turn, Marlee realizes that the enigmatic stranger who saves her might be her dream come true - or her waking nightmare.

Big, bad wolf...

As the pack's enforcer, Daniel has sworn to keep the existence of werewolves a secret. He knows that Marlee's bites may change her life in a way she can't imagine, but if they don't, he can't let her tell others about his race. Yet Marlee is awakening Daniel's most primal urges, and soon neither one of them will be able to resist the call of the wild.

Disappointing

Any additional comments?

Oh man, this is not a review I ever thought I would write about a book written by Jeaniene Frost or narrated by Tavia Gilbert, but here goes. First of all, I was very excited when I first heard Jeaniene Frost had a new book in the works. I preordered it a long time ago and actually forgot about it until I got the email saying it was available. I downloaded it and was eager to listen because I have missed Cat and Bones and was hoping this new series was going to be just as good. Imagine my surprise when I heard Tavia Gilbert announce it was a novelette. Yes, I realize it was my own fault for not paying close enough attention to that tid bit in the first place, but had I paid closer attention I NEVER would have paid 11 dollars for a book that is an hour and 30 mins long (or short). And here is my second disappointment about this, and ugh, this pains me to say...the performance by Tavia Gilbert was so extremely annoying! I can't believe I am saying this but it is true. She reads the main character so franticly from the start and most of the way through the story that it really becomes quite annoying. It started to annoy me so badly that I was wishing she had been eaten by the wolf so it would have saved us an hour and a half worth of annoyance. Again, this review pains me, but I just thought I would let it be known that this book is not worth the money that they are charging. :(

Pack

I like the concept of this book but I don’t know if I like the story.
I get that Marlee would be out of sorts with everything that went on but she was pretty whinny.

I hope that if this becomes a series we get a more put together Marlee someone who isn’t as she was in this book. What I like about Jeaniene Frost books are that her Heroines are always strong and know who they are and what they are. So that is my hope.

Again I loved Tavia’s performance.

Worst were-wolf story ever

Terrible superficial story with an annoying mother character and although I have listened to some of Jeaniene Frost's books narrated before, this was not good. If this is the same narrator that did the Cat and Bones series, I don't know what happened here. It was included in my subscription but I will be removing it it is that bad. I had the same experience with another included series which I will review similarly next.

Great Short Story and Narration!

This was a really good short novella story/ I enjoyed every bit of it. I liked Maddy and Daniel together. I enjoyed the werewolf story line. Seems like a new series might come out of this. Never know.

As for the narration, it was good. I like Tavia Gilbert. She does read very fast, however to me that is better than real slow drawn out dull robotic reader. Tavia is not that.

I want more!

I loved the chemistry between Marley and Daniel. It was a little insta-lovey, but I wouldn’t object to hearing more of their story. What happens after Marley’s time of quarantine? How do her family and friends react to her new state of life?

great story

this was a great story! i always enjoy Jeaniene Frost's stories and with Tavia's narration you can't go wrong. This was long enough to draw you in and give you resolution but always gives hope that you will heat more from Daniel and Marley.

4.5 stars

I loved this short story. It is a MF shifter romance set in and near Yellowstone National Park. I listened to the audio and it was only 1 hour 36 minutes in duration. Tavia Gilbert did the voices perfectly for this book. I was immediately hooked and captivated until the end. Even though it was short, the characters felt fleshed out and well developed. The story felt longer than it was, in a good way. I really wish there were additional stories for these characters. I really enjoyed getting to know them. I would listen to this again some time.

Very interesting!

It was a good story , with action and instant submersion into the plot. I like that the character did not become timid with her newly found change.
