Publisher's summary

Vanessa never wanted to be a contractor, but ever since her husband died, she has been trying to hold together his business. Her attempts are constantly hampered by sexy, charming Joe Coleman, another local contractor who wants nothing more than to buy her out. Now they're thrown together in a job at Eden Manor, a bed and breakfast and huge renovation job that can only be completed if they work together.

Vanessa is willing to be a professional and work with Joe if she has to. But she trusted him in the past and only got burned as a result, so she's never going to let down her guard with him again.

It would be a lot easier if he wasn't so irresistible - and if he didn't seem to want so much more from her than her business.

One Week with Her Rival

One Week with Her Rival was not an uplifting book. I found it depressing. I did not really finish skipped thru to

"Open Up To Moving On"

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I love our hero, as he didn't give up, but this story is about getting over grieving, and not what I want in an audible story. Life is tough enough, and we all will have grieving big or little in our life.
I did purchase this entire series which was read by Ms Dawe, so I have the other 2 stories in this short format. I can only hope they are fun as in the longer stories in this series. Don't miss them.

If you’ve listened to books by Noelle Adams before, how does this one compare?

not one that I would recommend unless you are looking for a self help type story, then this is it. See Jill Shalvis Accidentally on Purpose, read by the great Karen White.

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I purchased this author due to Ms Dawe reading it. I buy lots of her work by an unknown author, as she brings the stories to life. I am one of her most devoted fans. See her in Nora Roberts the MacGregor series as her Scotts accent is the very best! None better than when she does the MacGregor himself!

Any additional comments?

I do use the new 1.25x speed to match the author's intent

Melodramatic

How the author managed to squeeze so much back and forth and melodrama in a few hours I don't know. Vanessa is so quick to jump to conclusions as a protective mechanism instead of confronting her grief and her own feelings. It's all a little repetitive and exhausting.

Skip this.

Okay, both main characters are awful. Vanessa has no spine and Joe is a manipulative jerk that I cannot believe she forgave. He lied and treated her like nothing more than a means to an end. Do not think he was in for anything, except the business and that she is convenient. It was all about him and even though she was ki d of sad and pathetic deserved more.
