Renowned storyteller Gaelen Foley unfurls the seductive tale of the rakish Lord Alec Knight, who never looked for love - until it was right in front of him....
Lord Alec Knight, the most daring and handsome rogue in all of London, is a smooth-talking aristocrat with an abundance of high-society lady admirers. With his irresistible wit, lucky hand at the gaming tables, and enticing charisma, he can have any woman he wants. But when the only girl he would have considered marrying ties the knot with someone else, Alec realizes he doesn't want to be with just any lady - he wants to find the love of his life.
The boldly spirited, beautiful Miss Becky Ward takes his life by storm after he rescues her from peril. Alec soon learns that she is on the run from her cousin, the murderous Prince Mikhail Kurkov. Becky has uncovered a menacing secret about the prince - now nothing will stop him from hunting her down.
In the midst of danger, Alec and Becky find themselves deeply drawn to each other. After the two spend an all-consuming night of sin, Becky's knight in shining armor vows on his honor to protect her until the end. But before long, Alec is protecting her with more than honor - and it seems the once untamed rake of London just may have found what he has been searching for all along... true love.

Good story, good character development. I got involved and hated to put it down. I really like this author and hope Audible gets more of her books soon (she has many)! This book is part of a family of books and it would be nice to listen to more of them.
Definitely worth a credit!
Thankfully, this story is free from the frustrating, predictable misunderstandings that are so prevalent in many romance novels.
Instead you will find delightful characters, a rich story, and an emotional depth that touches your heart. It's not often that a book can touch me to the point of tears, but this one did in such a beautiful way several times.
The narrator was not the best I have heard, but she didn't get in the way of the story either.
This is by far the best book I have bought on Audible to date. I am going to go look for more by this author!
I hope you will take a chance on this. It is well worth the credit.
The narrator and the story line were perfect together. Angele Masters did not overact (God I'm so tired of Anne Flosnick's narrations!) so I was able to lose myself in the characters and the story itself. The characters were likable and their dialogue alternately touching, funny and sexy as hell. Gaelen Foley is a very sensuous writer. I found myself lost in the moment when the couple was simply kissing! I listen to a lot of audio books and I rarely write reviews but this one effected me. I'm on my second Gaelyn Foley (Her Secret Fantasy) and again I am NOT disappointed. Her stories just click with me. Well worth the credit as far as I'm concerned.
She is just fantastic in her narration! (although a russian accent is not the best) Her delivery of the dialogue was so perfectly affected that I was simply lost in the story. Her manner of expressing emotion was done in ways that I might not have thought to do in my own mind were I reading the story. LOVED HER! In fact looked for other romance novels that she may have narrated but she appears to do mostly fantasy.
Actually, it is Jennifer, not Michael. I enjoy a variety of books but am drawn to romantic historical fiction with a Christian message.
This was a very hot and steamy romance. Must wear headphones if kids around. Good story. Entertaining. Jennifer
I have a real crazy in love relationship with books!!!
I got this book on a sale and it was well worth it. Definitely interesting and was not a bad selection at all. I enjoyed the characters, the plot and general storyline. I would not hesitate to listen to another book by this author.
This book was my first experience of Gaelen Foley and I was very pleasantly surprised. It was very well written and read. I had not read any historical romances before either so this book was a joy in that sense as well. I intend to read/ listen to more of Gaelen Foley's books! I only wish that more of them were available in audio edition as well.
The narration is very bland. Monotone. She has poor inflection so the characters emotions do not come through her voice. They sound the same when happy and when sad- flat. Hard to tell if and when a character is speaking.
I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
I love this book I was captivated from start to end. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 because I felt the ending was bit rushed. Still there were some good steamy scenes and the narrator did a good job. Overall worth the credit.
I enjoy historical, paranormal, and contemporary romance. Also steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, suspense, and fiction. I'm open to about anything
Genre: Regency romance set in London
Narration was above average
I am not a prude. I read many books that are on the steamy side. However, the heroine, Becky, ran away from her cruel cousin because he was going to take her virtue. Then she goes to London and spreads her thighs for the hero within hours of meeting him. Sure, he was nice to her. He let her take a bath and fed her. But she really didn't know him before she had sex with him. He may have been as cruel as her cousin for all she knew. The plot of the book seemed interesting though according to a couple of reviewers on Goodreads, it drags some.
I got this in a 3 for 2 sale and I'm going to return it. My time is too precious to waste it being angry at imaginary people.
This is the worst book I have ever "tried" to listen to and I am so sorry I wasted my valuable credits. I read other reviews and ratings and so I trusted them for a good book. NOT! I tried to be patient with all the smut for 3 solid chapters and then gave it up.Unless you really enjoy that sort of thing do not bother with this listen. There was not enough substance to the story and character development to make me willing to wade and sort through the rest of it. I will delete this one from my library.
