A royal prince. An ordinary girl. An extraordinary royal wedding. Once Upon a Prince, the first novel in the Royal Wedding series by bestselling author Rachel Hauck, treats you to a modern-day fairy tale. Susanna Truitt never dreamed of a great romance or being treated like a princess - just to marry the man she has loved for twelve years. But life isn't going according to plan. When her high-school sweetheart breaks up with her instead of proposing, Susanna scrambles to rebuild her life. The last thing Prince Nathaniel expects to find on his American holiday to St. Simons Island is the queen of his heart. A prince has duties, and his family's tense political situation has chosen his bride for him. When Prince Nathaniel comes to Susanna's aid under the fabled Lover's Oak, he is blindsided by love. Their lives are worlds apart. He's a royal prince. She's an ordinary girl. But everything changes when Susanna receives an invitation to Nathaniel's coronation. It's the ultimate choice: his kingdom or her heart? God's will or their own?

"This is classic romance at its very best." (Debbie Macomber, #1 New York Times bestselling author)
It was fun and down to earth, and so very sweet!
The engagement at the end when he showed her he remembered everything she had said about getting engaged and falling in love!
True love conquers all!
I loved this story so much that I listened to it times in a row! So cute and sweet and loving!
Feel Good Book
The end of course. Every girl's dream.
I was very moved by Nate and Suzanna praying together in the beginning. If every relationship started like this, we would have much stronger marriages.
Great book. I have already recommended it to a friend.
I was unable to get very far due to the unrealistic characters and poor writing
I love books! All kinds... classics, mysteries, Christian fiction, suspense and action! I'm also a sucker for anything romantic. ;) And just recently started getting into some non-fiction, philosophical books.
I hesitated buying it because it seemed cliche and just plain silly for a concept. But I found myself falling for the characters. And oddly enough, I was sold on the story. It became believable and sweet, romantic and real. The author created the world of Brighton and incorporated it into our world in such a way as to make the reader accept it without question.
Of course it's still a bit cliche, and silly, and a bit sappy, but while I don't usually like those things, I did in this story. I loved the characters and felt for them. It was a book that should have been just ok, but that I felt myself really enjoying.
Also, I thought she incorporated Christianity into it in such a way that made it part of the story. My pet peeve with Christian literature is when the author throws Christianity in as an afterthought. I like all kinds of literature, but if a Christian novel isn't centered on Christ, then what's the point?
Good writing, great characters, a sweet, romantic easy listen.
No touching, no sex but a hell of a listening ride; both the writer and the reader did a remarkable job. Eleni Pappageorge brought Rachel Hauck's book to life. An amazing book. Its a keeper.
This book captures the very essence of fairy tales, but also being willing to completely surrender oneself to The Lord. Cannot wait for Book 2.
Actually, it is Jennifer, not Michael. I enjoy a variety of books but am drawn to romantic historical fiction with a Christian message.
Wonderful! This is an uplifting, inspirational, modern day fairy tale. If you need a happy, feel good listen, then this is for you. The narrator was quite talented as she went back and forth from the good 'ol southern Georgia drawl to a refined British accent. I picked this book because I so enjoyed The Wedding Dress by Rachel Hauck. She is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors.
I enjoyed the story it was not untypical of its kind but it kept me intrigued and didn't redundantly repeat as some do and it made me smile and mad not overly emotional but just enough to keep the story going I enjoyed the sister too hummm next in the series????
"a feelgood christian romance!!"
I wouldn't know, I have only listened to the audiobook
the two main characters
