Hard read but I loved it.

Where does On the Record rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I loved the story. I love the series so far. The narration was OKAY. I have mentioned that the narrator does not sound like a 20/21 year old college student. See my comment below. I think moving forward, audibles need to place a picture with age of the narrator because this narrator sounds in her early-mid thirties.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On the Record?

I loved how K.A. Linde wrote Brady's POV in the end. I loved that we did not get his POV until the end. I do not care for switch in POVs anymore. If the author writes dual POVs than I like snippets of the other character's POV. This was done perfectly.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator sounds much older than the protagonist. All the male voices sound the same, but that does not bother me as much as the narrator does not sound like a 20/21 year old female college student. I would like to know the true age of the narrator before I buy any other audio books that she reads. She sounds like a 30/35 year old woman which is great if the heroine is that age!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!!! The audibles said that I spend 7 hours and 35 minutes listening to it yesterday. I love how audibles keep track and because of this series, I think I earned two badges yesterday. LOL

Any additional comments?

This book was not an easy read. My favorite parts were scenes with Brady. I am told the angst in this book is worth to get to book 3, but even with the angst I could not stop listening to book 2. K.A. Linde the queen of angst has again sucked me into her story.
There were a lot of scenes that bothered me, but I am hoping and am told it is worth it to get to book 3. I already bought book 3 and am disappointed that my next two days with the holidays I will not be able to listen.

Held my Attention

The narrator did an amazing job. I preferred book 1, not much input from Brady which I had looked forward to hearing from. He came on scene toward the end with enough to make me move on to book 3. The writing was enough to keep me awake listening even when my system was fighting to sleep.

One of my favorite series…

So much slow burn and internal angst. I read these books years back and decide to revisit. I was not disappointed.

10 stars!!!!!

I was soooo worried this book would have the second book blues, I just loved the first one so much I prepared for the disappointment...luckily I didn't have to be disappointed because this one was better than the first!

We pick up where book 1 left off..Liz has walked out on Brady...she doesn't want to make him choose between the campaign and her so she chose for him. Now she is trying desperately to get on with her life, shouldn't be too hard, people break up all the time right? Well that is what she tells herself anyway! As she tries desperately to go on living a normal life she thinks of Brady every day, but she made her choice and now she has to live with it and TRY to build another life, a Brady free life...a new man....a new direction. But how do you build a life when your foundation is gone?

I am LOVING this series!!! I was a bit dissapointed that we didn't even see Brady for like 3 hours but he got there eventually...and then was gone again...at that point I was with Liz, I was longing to see Brady too!!! When a book can grab you like this and has you rooting for the characters and hoping for them then you know you are into a good book!

Have a mentioned I love this series? I am going to be so sad when this is over, but the ride has been so worth it!

Great 2nd installment!

Would you consider the audio edition of On the Record to be better than the print version?

Yes, definitely!

Who was your favorite character and why?

In this book, Brady! Love hearing the dialogue in his head.

Which character – as performed by Natalie Ross – was your favorite?

Liz

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Love is political.

Any additional comments?

I typical don't read a series unless at least 3 books are already released. Not a fan of cliff hangers, but am thankful I don't have to wait a year for the next one.

Amazing Narrator Voice

Who was your favorite character and why?

Brady is my favorite character but he just so Brady!

What does Natalie Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Natalie Ross has the best narrator voice! She not only nailed the female voice but she does great male voices as well!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The beginning was a bit slow with Hayden being so perfect but you knew the shoe was going to drop you just didn't know when!

I am so mad I could not stop listening

This is a book you hate but can not put down. How come? First time it had ever happened to me. Seems like a freaking soap opera. You hate the heroine, feel sorry for her, love her all at once.
She is now deep in it w/Hayden, and he is sweet but at the same time stupid, brilliant, competent and too good for his own good (could man up a bit to be less annoying).
The congressman is strong, hard but totally clear w/ what he wants and hot. Totally different from the undecided Liz. He acts on his feelings and wins Liz back when part of the truth is written by Callie and Hayden. A total mess, soap opera mess but you just get caught...
Well hell, just go for it. I will start the last book now...

Another HIT!

Any additional comments?

I loved this book as much or more than the first. I really enjoy a book that actually gets my blood pressure rising, this book has it all, a leading male you love and the other you love to hate! I can't wait for the final book in this trilogy I am sure will have me listening over and over like the first two. If you like a book with steamy sex, twists and turns and characters you want to punch in the face then this is for you!
