Publisher's summary

It all started with a question.…

When Liz Dougherty’s first reporting assignment for her North Carolina college newspaper finds her covering a state senator’s impromptu press conference, she has no idea how drastically her life is about to change. Senator Brady Maxwell may look the part with his devastating good looks and impeccable style, but his politics rub Liz the wrong way, and she’s not going to let him off easy.

Liz’s hardball question catches Brady off guard and shows her editor, Hayden Lane, that she’s headed places as journalist. But to Liz’s surprise, she’s also headed for a secret, high-stakes romance with Brady Maxwell that could destroy the careers they each hold dear.

Unsatisfied with sneaking around and realizing things with Hayden might not be strictly platonic, Liz faces a difficult decision: Should she take things with Brady to the next level or call the whole thing off? They soon discover that in love, unlike politics, there’s rarely a clear winner.

Politic! True Love! Funny! & Excitement!

Would you listen to Off the Record again? Why?

Yes, definitely! Because the author plant the ground for the plot of story so well and good. She began the story with a bang and began to build the character so well.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I have a lot of favorite character in this book, here are my top three: Brady, Liz & Victory.
Why because Vicky is funny and lovable person and she protects her friend and stand by them and not judge. Brady is men who is used to have whatever he want and when he have to work hard to have both the love of his life and his care too he work hard at it. Last but not least Liz she make mistake and learn from it. She independent and she know what she want. She will not give up and fight for what she belive in and wanted. There are other character that I like but those are my top 3 choices.

Which character – as performed by Natalie Ross – was your favorite?

I LOVED THEM ALL !

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No I think if the author put it all in one book it either become too long or she have to cut a lot of good suft out of it.

Any additional comments?

by making the story into 3 part the author make the story more exciting and interesting.

The story grabbed me and did not let go

This book sat in my library for about 2 years before I downloaded it. I am sorry I waited so long!!! I could not stop listening. All the characters were interesting. A college paper reporter, Liz, meets Brady Maxwell, a candidate for US Congress. She does not agree with his positions, but she is struck dumb by his looks. He is gorgeous. They are drawn to one another, but Brady does not think he can get involved with a woman while he is a candidate. He is 27 and a bachelor so I don't agree with his reasoning, but that is how the story goes. There is a great deal of sex involved and I felt so sorry for Liz because she was forced to keep out of sight. Brady would not see her win public. There are a couple of other men interested in Liz, particularly her boss, Editor of the paper, Hayden. There is a lot of angst, of the good kind, but the book ends without resolution. Still a VERY good book. I have already ordered the 2nd book in the series in order to find out what happens to these great characters.

Riveting

Was a very riveting book and great performance by the narrator. Was stunned to be left hanging at the end.

Cliff hanger - doesn't stand alone

Would you try another book from K. A. Linde and/or Natalie Ross?

I'll finish the series but feel it is a cheap trick to blatantly trick readers to have to buy the next book to finish the story. Hope each book in whole series ends in cliff hangers. Doubt I'll try a different one of her series for fear the same trick will be pulled.

What do you think your next listen will be?

next in the series but may go to another author - one that writes books that may be in a series but with each book able to stand on it's own.

DNF

unbelievably realistic or tolerable.
Why they just couldnt be together in public makes absolutely no sense. He can trapes around with other young women but not her? T here is no reason why they cant be together hes not married or dating anyone, the only thing is they have different views sorta .....
