Publisher's summary

It all started with a question.…

When Liz Dougherty’s first reporting assignment for her North Carolina college newspaper finds her covering a state senator’s impromptu press conference, she has no idea how drastically her life is about to change. Senator Brady Maxwell may look the part with his devastating good looks and impeccable style, but his politics rub Liz the wrong way, and she’s not going to let him off easy.

Liz’s hardball question catches Brady off guard and shows her editor, Hayden Lane, that she’s headed places as journalist. But to Liz’s surprise, she’s also headed for a secret, high-stakes romance with Brady Maxwell that could destroy the careers they each hold dear.

Unsatisfied with sneaking around and realizing things with Hayden might not be strictly platonic, Liz faces a difficult decision: Should she take things with Brady to the next level or call the whole thing off? They soon discover that in love, unlike politics, there’s rarely a clear winner.

Excellent series

Where does Off the Record rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is in the top 5 best book.mi love the story and the narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Off the Record?

The story just sucks you right in.

What about Natalie Ross’s performance did you like?

Her voice for Liz and Brady are both great. And it is hard usually for female narrators to get the male voice so on point

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely, I listened to 2am

Any additional comments?

Please reserve a weekend to got through the 3 books because otherwise you will be annoyed.it is one of my favorite stories and the narration just makes it so much much better.

Well hells bells

I hate books with no endings. Would never have even given a thought to getting a story without an ending.

Beware the cliffhanger!!

This story loses a star for not only ending with a cliffhanger, but a TOTALLY lame one at that. As in the author literally wrote "to be continued." to end the book. Seriously!? You made me listen to 12+ hours of angst and drama only to leave me with a completely unsatisfying "to be continued" AND then you want me to get through two more long ass books to find out if these two lovers can get their act together? Listen... I don't mind a good trilogy (or series even) but if the ending is of the cliffhanger variety I feel like it's still the author's responsibility to give the reader a complete (preferably good) ending. I don't think I'll be putting K. A. Linde on my repeat author list if this lazy ending is a typical example of her writing style.

Very calm love story

Where does Off the Record rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's entertaining, but in a quiet sort of way. I do not think it warranted a sequel. I think the story could of been told in one book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Off the Record?

When Liz FINALLY decided to let go of Brady. It was a long time in coming. I don't want to thing that there are women that out there that are willing to hide and take left overs.

Have you listened to any of Natalie Ross’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I like her voice. I would love to hear her in other stories. Her performance is clear and pleasant.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. It was easy to put down and go back to. Perfect if you have things to do but want a distraction.

Amazing!

What other book might you compare Off the Record to and why?

The Billionaire series by Jessica Clare. Because both narrator nailed the female and male voices.

Which character – as performed by Natalie Ross – was your favorite?

Brady.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I don't make promises I can't keep.

Natalie's performance really made it great.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hayden, well, because!

What about Natalie Ross’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed how she dramatized it a little bit.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There was, but if I say what it was then it would spoil it for readers that have not read this book yet.

secrets...love...?...

Secrets big or small can destroy everything and anything you value.

Love is big, strong, and can take a beating. It can lift you up or break you.

? Too many questions make for insecurities and doubt.

Altogether they create a story that leaves you holding your breath waiting for a decision that may never come...

Good Political Romance ♥️✈️🔑💙

This is a book about two people passionate about their careers and what they believe in. Eventually, that passion includes each other, but it is played out in secret.

I guess I never really understood why Liz and Brady had to be a secret. Because she’s young? A reporter? And why she continues to allowing him to hurt her.

Diving into the next book (yes, it ends on a cliffhanger), I hope to see some backbone from her and some concern for her feelings from him. Life goals are important; relationships even more so.

The narrator does a good job. Told in third person, so she does well with both voices.

OK story, but it didn't end

12 hours long and the story doesn't end, to be continued in the next book. I really dislike that type of cliff hanger ending.
