Set against the glittering backdrop of Paris, Obsession is the first in a sprawling, globe-spanning trilogy of intrigue - and the two star-crossed lovers swept up in it all.
When Eliah Al-Saud and Matilde Martínez meet on a flight to Paris, they have little in common. Eliah is the rich and powerful owner of a French security company - actually a front for mercenary and espionage services - while Matilde is a pediatric surgeon from Argentina whose only dream is to work in Africa helping children in need.
Despite their differences - and their current relationships - an undeniable attraction swallows them whole, driving them into a whirlwind romance and irreversibly intertwining their devastating secrets and placing them at the center of an explosive international conflict. Even if they manage to survive, will their love?

This is translation from a Spanish trilogy series. All in all, the book was good and well plot out. The characters were likable. I like that the hero and heroine, Eliah and Metilda, were family oriented. There were a lot of things/events going on in this book that tied back to the plots and characters. The only thing that I had a hard time with was the names of the characters and how the Narrator read them with a heavy accent at time that I had a heard time understanding him. This is a good book and I enjoyed listening to it. I look forward to the next 2 in the series.
In reading the publishers review, I thought this would be a good book especially with a 24 hour length. When the book began I thought, this is the wrong book and I'm not interested. I think the narrator may have kept me going but soon I was hooked.
It also has exotic locales and settings, history, travel, romance, intrigue; everything You look for in a great novel. Wait, there is also heartbreak, betrayal and espionage.
The best part is, it's not over.
If the narrator is going to use French, he should get it right. But overall he narrates well.
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
WOW - at first i felt this was going to be a good book -- I soon discovered that there was just too much going on all at once to keep up with comfortably. The name dropping drove me to distraction :(......... The author did not have to constantly tell me the name of every street in Paris, the brand of every article of clothing the characters were wearing, cars they were driving, music they were listening to, paintings they saw, watches they wore, aircraft they flew in...I could go on and on, the author sure did. This "knowledge" did not impress me, nor did it make the story more enjoyable. Furthermore, there were too many sub-plots and unusual character names, and pseudonyms to keep track of. I was often confused as who was doing what. The way the author made most of the characters intertwined with one another as friends, relatives, friends of friends, etc... way too much. One good thing in this book is that Peter Berkrot sounded great and done a very good job narrating...... I will not be purchasing the rest of the books as they are released.
I see why this book is over 20 hours long, the majority of the story is description of past events in waaaaay too much detail, and they had nothing to do with the character building of the main characters, just mindless filler. I will admit, I did not listen to the book in it's entirety, I couldn't get past the first 6 hours. I kept waiting for it to get better and it didn't! I finally just gave up, don't waste your money or a credit on this one!
"thought it was pants at first -worth sticking with"
it developed well and became more interesting as it went on
no preference but can he please stop putting on a stupid high pitched voice for the female characters
despite annoying me at first I stuck with this and am really glad I did. the story really grew on me and I bought and listened to the 2nd in the trilogy which was even better. Awaiting the 3rd in the series which has now been translated but not yet released as an audiobook.
