Northern Rebel: A new sizzling Uniformly Hot story
Locate the explosive. Defuse or safely detonate it. It's a job that takes cojones, and one wrong move could land marine demolitions expert Lars Reinhardt in the hurt locker…or in the morgue. But it takes a leave in Good Riddance, Alaska, for Lars to meet his greatest—and prickliest—challenge yet. And he'll need more than charm to disarm this stunning nurse….
Delphi Reynolds has declared that emotionally unavailable dudes are the new no-no. And while she's tempted to let Lars light her libido's fuse, he's off-limits—no matter how sexy, charming or freakin' gorgeous he is! But Lars lives for a challenge, and he wants Delphi for the week. And once they ignite, it'll set off a fiery chain reaction that could blow them both away….

I actually listened to the book as a way to go to sleep! The narrator was truly awful. The story suffers due to the narration, which is a lesson in articulation. In fact, some words are so over articulated they are actually mispronounced!
no, I couldn't finish the book because of the narration
Only if narrated by someone else
Not on audible. The story was okay but the narration totally ruined it for me.
I would like to see what happens to some of the characters but I won't buy it if it is narrated by the same person.
This audio book could be good if the narrator was different. I will not buy anything Alex Barrett narrates again!!!
She over articulated, put emphasis on the wrong syllable and paused at totally the wrong time making this a stilted and drawn out technical sounding book.
I go through tons of books on a hour commute each way to work daily for the past 10 years and have been a Platinum member for years. This is the worst narrator I have EVER listened to. Having heard the rest of the series by this author, I had to finish the book but it was a struggle. I am disappointed that audible would not have better quality control.
This might be a good story, but it's hard to get past the narration to appreciate it.
Narrator is stinted and choppy. Often monotone. Pauses in illogical places.
The reader was so wooden or stiff that I couldn't finish the book.
If this book wasn't part of a subscription I would return it.
I have been listening to audible books for over three years. This is the first time I've ever written a review. I had to put this in because this was the worst narration I've ever heard. The narrator sounded like a robot. Or like one of those e-books that reads back to you. The narrator had no emotion and read the book in a monotone voice. I think the book overall would have been ok but the narrator was not good.
I enjoyed the book, bought the papeback copy after trying to listen to this
The writer is a very good writer.
If you get a different narrator.
Th narrator is awful. Very wooden and uncaring.
In the Northern Rebel, the story could have been great had I been able to get past the narrator. She sounded like a computer recording, each and every word was very enunciated. The only time that she sounded half way normal was when she spoke in the different people's voices.
I'm tempted to stop listening to this book and just read it as the story line seems great.
