When innocent, wealthy Nora Marlowe came to visit the Wild West, she was as wide-open to adventure as the vast Texas horizon. Its rugged individualism - and dashing cowboys - suited her romantic spirit. That is, until the wrong cowboy decided to take the elegant heiress down a notch!

Cal Barton didn’t like haughty Eastern misses. And he certainly didn’t appreciate one invading the ranch where he worked. But something about Nora was irresistible. The pull between them only grew stronger the longer she stayed - until a simple kiss became a full-fledged seduction that threatened to destroy everything she held dear... Don’t miss this classic tale from Diana Palmer!

What made the experience of listening to Nora the most enjoyable?

Based on some earlier reviews - I put off listening thinking I would not like the book. Boy was I wrong.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I can't really claim to have a favorite - all characters are outside of my view of the world - so it was a new experience to follow this story with them.

Have you listened to any of Natalie Ross’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Her voice sounded familiar so I went back to check - the other book was After the Night by Linda Howard. I thought she did an excellent job with both books. Her men sounded like men to me - not an easy task I am sure. I couldn't do it without sounding comical.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me cry in parts - especially when pride causes a person to be cruel to the one person you should treat the best.

Any additional comments?

This story did not take me where I expected - I enjoyed the journey.

I did not notice in previewing that this was not a current century setting. Not my preference.

This book had some interesting characters! I enjoyed listening to Nora and Cal's story! The audio was a little muffled in places and this narrators male voices were a little annoying at times. The author does a good job with the period and attitude of the time in history.

Stuck up and then some!

Any additional comments?

I'm very picky. I like a good story and a narrator. This was done very well and I recommend it
