When Nicole Whitcomb's car runs off a Colorado mountain road during a blinding snowstorm, she is saved from death by a handsome, fascinating, and enigmatic stranger.
Snowbound with him for days in his beautiful home high in the Rockies, she finds herself powerfully attracted to him. But there are things about him that mystify her, filling her with apprehension.
Who is Michael Tyler? Why does he live alone in such a secluded spot and guard his private life so carefully? What secret - or secrets - is he hiding?
Nicole has secrets of her own and a past she is running from - but Michael understands her better than anyone she has ever known. Soon, she is falling as deeply in love with him as he is with her - a profoundly meaningful experience that is destined to change their lives forever.
As the sexual tension between them builds, however, the clues mount up. When Nicole learns her host's terrifying secret, there is nowhere for her to run but into the blizzard raging outside, and Michael may be the only one who can save her life.

I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
I think this listen had so much potential, I love Vampire books, but unfortunately the narration just killed it for me. I'm sure it would have reached a much higher star rating if someone else had narrated it as, even on double speed, it was a painful listen.
There were only two characters - Nicole and Michael but the narration made everything seem so slow between them and her monotone voice made you feel there was no action, no adventure, no passion and there's no hot sexy love scenes. There were happy moments, touching moments and some heartbreaking moments but they all just sounded the same and, if you're a fan of a HEA ending, then chose another book.
Worth a credit? I hate it when a good book is ruined like this and I ask the person responsible for selecting HF to narrate this book "did you actually listen to this? and if so WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!" I regret buying this so sadly it's a NO, not worth a credit.
The twist and turns of of the story and the slight nods to the characters stangeness
The attack on the lead character by the mountain lions.
OK, but I did not warm to her voice
The man who lived his books
I loved the story but did not like the narrator so much.
"Modern day romance with a sting in the tale"
Engrossing I wanted to get to the end
Just the right length
I enjoyed following Nicola to her realisation of Michaels true identity and get coping with the truth
Not much variance on speaking male parts
I enjoyed the book very much but felt the narrator could have made a big difference to the overall experience. I found her voice dull and monotone and it sent me to sleep on a few occasions.
The story was enjoyable not my usual genre and not what I was expecting but ok for all that as it wasn't very long it was easily listened to and worth a listen to anyone wishing to spend a few hours in fantasy land
