So she sets out to find a special man to father her child, someone without too much gray-matter between his ears: in short, a big, strong dope. Cal Bonner, legendary pro quarterback, seems to fit the bill. But there's something Dr. Jane hasn't counted on: he's no dumb jock. And he's not about to get used and abused by a baby-mad schemer.

"A sensual, heartwarming story." (Library Journal)

I would say they are about equal. Anna Fields did a great job on the voices with the exception of the male voices, where she was a bit off but certainly the voice work did not detract from the story.
It's funny, doesn't take the ludicrous plot too seriously and the characters are endearing.
When they first meet. I had a smile on my face the whole time. The banter was hilarious.
I did both. Mostly laugh.
The plot is a bit ludicrous but it's funny and endearing. The characters work and the story works. This was my first Susan Elizabeth Phillips book and I was hooked. I had been strictly a historical romance reader, but this book opened a whole knew world for me. If you want something that will do a great job taking you on a silly journey this is the book for you.
Just remember it's a romance, this isn't going to win any literary awards outside the Romance genre. With that said I highly recommend this book.
It was funny and poignant and I loved these characters.
The developing relationship between Jane and Cal.
No but I can't wait to come across her work again.
This was such a fun listen I had a hard time putting it down! I found myself laughing out loud, but also a great romance.
With so many books having similar story lines "Nobody's Baby But Mine" was unique. It was funny, with likable characters. There were some slow spots, but for the most part it kept my interest...I didn't want to stop listening to it.
The narrator was GREAT! I don't think another narrator could have brought out the humor the way she did--at times making me laugh out loud. It was a cute story, but Anna Fields made it memorable. I rarely listen to a book more than once, but I'll no-doubt listen to this one again.
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
This was my first SEP book and I chose well. A fun, hilarious romp. The best part was when the girls banded together. I could just see it. Such a fun story.
I am ADDICTED to audio books. My first listen was Catch Me if You Can by SEP. I love listening to Anna Fields and miss her dearly.
I love SEP. I love Anna Fields. I love the characters. I love the story. !!!!
Love to listen and drive!
Yes! I love the romance and the humor in the book. The dialogue between the characters is very engaging.
I like the humor in the dialogue as well as the vulnerability in the characters stories.
I didn't like some of the male voices they seemed to forced and made them sound a lot older than they actually are in the book.
I don't know why, but I have re-read all of Susan Elizabeth Phillips (SEVERAL) times because they all have parts that make me laugh out loud, and this one was no exception. Jane Darlington dancing for Cal Bonner was a little painful to listen to and oh sooooo very funny!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. I downloaded it because it's SEP and there was nothing else that I didn't have already. You might like it, I listened to the whole thing and laughed in some spots but .......
I keep getting emails asking me to rate the books I have listened to but did not feel incline to do so until know. I love this book, great storyline, it was both funny and enlightening. A must read. The narrator did an excellent job in portraying each character and their feelings. The passion between Cal and Jane kept drawing me in wanting to know and feel more. I admit some parts were predictable but all in all I found myself being part of the whole story. My favorite character was Annie, that feisty, bold hillbilly of an old woman who seem to know her family better than they know themselves. This is the second SEP book I have bought and is very impress by this author.
Would definitely but more of her books.
