Publisher's summary

Investigative journalist Kendall Glynn is horrified when a friend and colleague signs off permanently during a live newscast, jabbing a pen into his jugular. Kendall's no expert, but judging by the strange white veil in the anchorman's eyes, she would swear he was a man possessed.

A descendant of the accursed Nephilim, Zeke Reece prowls San Francisco by night, keeping the city free from paranormal phenomena. But even he is no match for whatever malevolent force is behind a recent rash of murder-suicides. And when a beautiful and tenacious reporter becomes the next target, Zeke has no choice but to stay close to her, until he can find the evil spirit and cross it over.

The closer Kendall gets to the truth, the more danger she's in. Fortunately, a sexy and mysterious masked stranger keeps swooping in to the rescue. Kendall's life depends on finding who or what is responsible for the killings, before it finds her.

Good fun!

What made the experience of listening to Nobody's Angel the most enjoyable?

Very sexy and intriguing with lots of plot twist and turns. I loved the narration and the pace which never left me bored.

Any additional comments?

Puleeze can we get some more good hot FUN but serious romance like this one? I was really taken away - the narrator Romy Nordlinger had just the right mix of sultry, mischevious and conversational. I felt like I was listening to an old friend tell her secrets. I only wish the book wasn't over!!

Awesome!

I was so glad I used my credit for this! It was fun, fast paced and plenty of steamy scenes. Romy Nordlinger is definitely on my favorite narrator list - she made this listen a blast!

Great Afternoon Listen: Quick and Good

Quick Thoughts for a Quick Book: For a short read this was a fantastic listen. In fact, I think I found a new way to enjoy shorter stories. For some reason, narration added an extra layer to the story and it felt deeper than if I read it. Kendell and Zeke were both well-rounded characters that I was rooting for the whole way through. The mystery was well-planned and thought out. I thought the story could have been longer and deeper (there was just something missing I couldn't put my finger on) but overall I enjoyed it. Great read for an afternoon on the porch!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Romy Nordlinger / Length: 3 hrs and 34 mins

This is my first time listening to a book narrated by Romy and she did a pretty good job. I think she made me like the book more than I normally would have but I didn't get a chance to get used to her male voices. It sometimes takes me a bit to warm up to male voices done by females and in short books that time just isn't there. I will give her another whirl though!

FOR $1 per HOUR IT'S A BARGAIN

Ohhhh firstly I love hunky Angels in my romance books then add this sexy picture to my addiction and with these 2 easy steps I'm in Heaven (I know, I know there's no hope for me!).

This is a short but sweet listen as Zeke an undercover masked Guardian Angel posing as an EMT worker is very attracted to Kendall but he spends most of his time either protecting her from an evil paranormal entity who's trying to kill her, or having an innocent coffee with her under his other EMT persona. Romance soon blossoms (when you've only got 3 hours it has to) but she's torn between her attraction to both men until she's kissed..... then the clever girl doesn't waste any more time getting hot n heavy with her Angel.

Yes there's holes in the plot but it's a modern day Heavenly Adult version of Clark Kent and Lois Lane type fantasy romance but you do get a nice little story if you don't expect too much and it's going to be a series focusing on different Angels.

Bland

It’s possible I would have enjoyed this more with a better narrator. She narrated action scenes without emotion, like when a witness blithely informs Kendall how he saw a woman’s throat crushed, as if simply reciting his day at the office. She also had a nasal sound and didn’t differentiate much, making all men, and all women, sound the same. The mystery felt very Scooby Doo trying to be deeper with long bouts of telling us how Nephilim came to be. The was some humor and the romance wasn’t terrible. It was okay at $1 an hour. But, I’m not interested in moving on.

Nice story, poor narration

Enjoyed the story. Although the narrator reads the text well, understanding it was a little confusing as she did not take care to differentiate the voices. The price of this book was cheaper than buying it in a visual format and that is the only reason to buy the audible version. I won't buy any other books having more than one character narrated by Romy Nordlinger. I have a list of favorite narrators. She has caused me to create one for the ones to avoid.

Nobody's Angel

Any additional comments?

This could of been a much better book but was ruined by poor narration. Romy Nordlinger - narrator, did not enhance the story by changing her voice much for the different characters so I Just could not concentrate. Ok for sale price of under three dollars but i did not finish the book. :(
