Publisher's summary

Computer security specialist Elizabeth Martinez has never been able to turn her back on her brother Benny. When his risky lifestyle finally lands him in harm's way, Elizabeth finds herself dragged into the dangerous underworld with him and into the cross hairs of one of Miami's death-dealing drug lords. Only after her ex-boyfriend saves her does she realize she might have no choice but to depend on the one man she has tried so desperately to forget.

Former Marine Porter Caldwell never should have let Elizabeth walk away from him all those months ago. She means more to him than anything and now that she's in danger and turned to him for help, he won't make that mistake again. When a local gang targets her and she's nearly killed in a drive by shooting, Porter vows to do whatever it takes to keep her alive. Even if it means turning his back on all that he's sworn to uphold.

WTH??

Any additional comments?

How could this narrator get 4 and 5 star reviews? Every voice sounds just like a girl, just like Ms. Down. How is that a great narrator? AND she sounds like a robot. Not an ounce of emotion in her voice.

I would also like to say that the description tells us what the book is about or we can zip over to Amazon and look at reviews. This is AUDIBLE! What we need to review is the narrator. Does he or she suck? Why? Is he or she too nasal-y, too sweet for the kind of book he or she is reading, to gruff, too bland, too robotic, lacks emotion. Is he or she doing nothing but reading the book? Not changing his or her voice for the male and female voices? Is the narrator sounding the same whether she or he is reading a whisper spoken?
Most of us on AUDIBLE don't really care what the book is about. We want to know about the narrator! Just sayin..

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4
REVIEW:
When Elizabeth Martinez brother calls for help Elizabeth is always willing to drop everything and everyone to run to his side. But this time Benny has pulled Elizabeth into a very dangerous situation that could possible leave them both dead.

This was really good book. I enjoyed the tension between Elizabeth and Porter the whole time. I really want to know more about the rest of the Caldwell brothers and am looking forward to the next book in this series.
Since this books was given to me for review on Audio I need to address that part of the review. I normally like an narrator that can tell me a story not read me a story. Pyper was a little more of the reading of the story then telling of the story. But even with that I did enjoy listening to this book on audio. I would suggest that you head over to audible (or where you buy your audio books) and listen to a sample of No One To Trust and make sure that Pyper is the right narrator for you.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from Katie Reus & Audible in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.

Great book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book to friends. I love everything that I have read that Katie Reus has written, and this book is no exception. It has action, passion and a good story line and is a great lead into a series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Porter was my favorite character. He is a strong, hot, take action kind of guy that would do anything for the woman he loves. Who wouldn't love a guy like that?

What does Pyper Down bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It took me awhile to connect with Pyper Down's voice, but once I did I thought she did great. She has a nice voice and did a good job changing it to accomodate the different characters and in expressing their emotions.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have loved to listen to this book all in one sitting if I had the time. It was a great read and kept me wanting to listen to more.

Any additional comments?

I think this is a great book and will definitely listen to more in this series.

Narrator or robot

I really enjoyed this story. It was action packed and very sexy, but I struggled with the narration. I kept thinking how much more I would enjoy this book if read by someone else. It almost seemed like a robot was reading it in very clipped, mechanical sounding sentences, with no emotion. During the time the narrator was speaking for the characters she actually did a good job of sounding like a person. But most of the book sounded robotic to me. I still gave it 4 stars because I thought the story was great.

GREAT listen ~ <3 this series!

I love the Red Stone Security Series, and this short just added to my love. Katie Reus did a fantastic job packing a ton of romance and action in. Porter Caldwell is one of brothers that runs The Red Stone Security Agency; he's been crazy about Elizabeth Martinez since he met her, and they'd actually dated ~ until he dared to question her support of her brother, who through his addictions & habits has put Lizzy in danger on more than one occasion. Lizzy showed him the door fast; there'd be no questions or comments about her brother.

Until once again Lizzy becomes the target of a ruthless drug dealer through her brother ~ and this time Porter is having none of it. As Porter and Katie dodge gang members hunting her down, shootings & threats it quickly becomes apparent to both of them they are meant to be together ~ and to Porter no cost is too high. Or is it?

GREAT novealla ~ action packed with sizzling love scenes, this one has it all!

The narration was excellent, and left me wanting more ~ I'm looking forward the next installement of The Red Stone Security Series in audio!!

Band of Brothers, "yeaah"

Would you consider the audio edition of No One to Trust to be better than the print version?

Yes as I purchased this book due to Pyper Down reading it. I did not start with this book so I did not agree with other reviewer of having to get use to this reader. Grant's story is so sweet.

What did you like best about this story?

bossy hero and when he binds our heroine's feet, I was lost. These are fast pace, sexy short stories. If you have to have every detail spelled out, then these are not for you.

What about Pyper Down’s performance did you like?

Her low male voices are not deep, but she sure does make our hero and his brothers just plain yummy and I mean hot and sexy. Pyper knows how to pace her read to the material and she knows when to draw out a word that really makes the heros sexy. So many of the readers have a high pitch voice and no male voice at all. The author's work can not make up for a slow pace and bad reader.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

these are too short for a film, but this could be midnight run

Any additional comments?

Not sure why these stories are short, but they are great. Author has what it takes to write a fast pace short story that makes you want to own all of the brothers/ team stories. I purchased them based on the reader! I have one of this author's longer stories read by Isabelle Gordon and the story was good, and I own all of I.G. reads as she too makes the hero sexy and yummy. I hope you enjoy these SHORT listens as much as I have.

SUSPENSE PACKED!!!!

If you could sum up No One to Trust in three words, what would they be?

This is a very suspenseful, action packed story from start to finish with excellent narration throughout! Elizabeth is smart, loyal and strong; Porter is sexy, stubborn and protective. Their chemistry is very obvious. If you like on the run non-stop action along with romance this story is for you. Loved it!!

Exceptional!!!

I just stumbled upon this series and OMG, they are short no more than 5 hours but greedily packed with yummy punch after punch excitement. I can't wait to continue reading them. I am on book 3 now and ................... Worth the price also. I have read other books by this author and she is working her way into becoming one of my favorites by far. The narrator is doing a great job also.

action and suspense

If you like fast paced action and suspense you will LOVE Lizzie and Porter's story. The romantic tension between these two feeds the overall feel of this book. Pyper Down was fantastic as the voice for this book.
