Night of Cake & Puppets: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!
In this new standalone novella from New York Times best-selling author Laini Taylor comes the story of a romantic, funny, and fantastical first date. In Night of Cake & Puppets, Taylor brings to life a night only hinted at in the Daughter of Smoke & Bone Trilogy - the magical first date of fan-favorites Zuzana and Mik. Told in alternating perspectives, it's the perfect love story for fans of the series and new listeners alike.
Petite though she may be, Zuzana is not known for timidity. Her best friend, Karou, calls her "rabid fairy", her "voodoo eyes" are said to freeze blood, and even her older brother fears her wrath. But when it comes to the simple matter of talking to Mik, or "Violin Boy", her courage deserts her. Now, enough is enough. Zuzana is determined to meet him, and she has a fistful of magic and a plan. It's a wonderfully elaborate treasure hunt of a plan that will take Mik all over Prague on a cold winter's night before finally leading him to the treasure: herself!
Violin Boy's not going to know what hit him.

In the top 25 audiobooks that I've listened to. The musical accompaniment was a perfect mood setter/enhancer.
I love how they met and all these things they did for each other to eventually end up in a boat, drinking tea and eating chocolate cake.
When Zu was the one who put herself out there by placing a map in Mik's violin case, it was her way of asking him out/finding out if he liked her too.
I would have but almost three hours was a bit longer than I wanted to listen straight thru. I broke it down into two parts.
Loved the atmospheric charm combination of the authors' words and the wonderful audio track. The characters' voices and accents were great and the music was a perfect accompaniment.
This is one of my favorite stories and I love Lani. This version with the soundtrack and voice narration was better than reading the book myself the first time.
it's romantic AND funny! hit me in the heart and the funny bone. The music really helped with the emotion.
Karou cracks me up!
When the music would kick in, I really felt like I was in the story.
