Publisher's summary

Dear Listener,

I wrote Night Shadow during the spring and summer of 1988. I had such fun with this book, particularly when the quintessential Regency bachelor meets his Waterloo.

Knight Winthrop, Viscount Castlerosse - you met him in Night Storm - is very happy with his life just the way it is. Then Lily Tremaine shows up on his doorstep claiming she was betrothed to his murdered cousin. With her are his cousin’s three children. She has no money, nowhere to go. What’s even worse - Ugly Arnold is hard on her heels.

Ah, so what’s Knight supposed to do now? He takes them in and kisses his former life goodbye.

I hope you’ll laugh until your belly aches at the antics of Laura Beth, Sam, and Theo - and at how the very clever, creative Lord Castlerosse deals with this new species.

How does he deal with Lily? Listen on, you’ll love it.

- Catherine Coulter

maybe you'll like it

I couldn't stop listening until I got to the point after Night attacked, demeaned and treated lily horribly and she let him have his way with her even though she felt like shit. I just dont understand it

Beneath your ability.

I have read and own many of your books enjoying them greatly. This book seemed like sex scenes were used for filler and more filler rather than working on plot. The story line could have been good with a little work.

Love and the thieves

This book was so fun to read that I had a hard time taking a break. The characters had strong personalities and that made it easy to recognize them. Romance and adventure.

Thoroughly Enjoyed

I so enjoyed this book that I listened to it in 4 days. How fun that this eternal bachelor who had such an aversion to not only marriage, but to children, should be so attached to these memorable characters? I just loved it. The kids were all charming, and easy for even me to fall in love with! Would love to have a secondary series follow them!
There was that annoying scene where he did force an unwanted sexual event on her... BUT... it was kind of how the authors were writing these books in the year this was written. Yes it could have been written better according to our awareness now, and who knows, maybe it will get rewritten, but keep that in mind and don't be too annoyed. The rest of the story was worth getting past that.
Anne Flosnick isn't one of my favorite narrators, but she isn't one I avoid. I thought she did a very good job on this book.

I bought this book on sale for $2.56 and it was absolutely worth that. It would have been worth it on a 2/1 sale also. I don't often pay one whole credit for a book, but I don't think this is one I would have felt had a been a credit well spent.
