The first installment of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series, Night Pleasures.

The Dark-Hunters are ancient warriors who have sworn to protect mankind and the fate of the world is in their hands. . .

He is solitude. He is darkness. He is the ruler of the night. Yet Kyrian of Thrace has just woken up handcuffed to his worst nightmare: An accountant. Worse, she's being hunted by one of the most lethal vampires out there. And if Amanda Devereaux goes down, then he does too. But it's not just their lives that are hanging in the balance. Kyrian and Amanda are all that stands between humanity and oblivion. Let's hope they win.

“Kenyon's writing is brisk, ironic, sexy, and relentlessly imaginative. These are not your mother's vampire novels.” —The Boston Globe

Not worth it.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I found the writing heavy handed and not particularly creative. The narrator mispronounced words. I spent more time rolling my eyes than enjoying the story.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her accents were inconsistent and she mispronounced a number of the Greek words (and some of the English ones).

Was Night Pleasures worth the listening time?

No.

Where's Holter Graham

It's a good thing I read the book b4 I heard it read to me, it was just so blah I don't mean to be I'll about it but the narrator was reading with no excitement at all it takes away 4rm the story. just one question though; why would u give the most well known character that's Greek no less a transylvania accent? just why?

excellent series

This book is a good introduction to the night hunter series. A little dated but not too much. Narrator does not vary the different voices very much

The narrator's voice.

The narrator's voice for this book it don't like. her accents are way off. she needs to study a Greek accent.

I I loved the story

I loved the story, the author writes strong willed women and strong men. But the voice of Kyrian drove me insane and the winning sound Amanda makes is contrary in y opining to the character. It could have been better

narrator really ruined it for me

It was hard for me to focus on the storyline with the narrator tearing up the Amanda's accent. Because of this she made the character sound whiny, ignorant and annoying more so than your imagination would've had you read the book instead. I say this for comparison because I DID read this series when it came out many years ago and the voices I imagined in my head while reading this book in particular did not let me down the way this narrator did.
However and ironically she did do the male parts very well.
Overall it's a quick read/listen so if you don't end up liking it worry not, it will skip by.
Think I will give next few books a try but only because there is a new narrator for them.

Kierian of Thrace Nightwalker

Carrington did a great narration to this email n going Series . Kierian the Nightwalker is a intriguing. mysterious character. His life story is one agonizing experience of loss. His way back to trust and love kept me engaged in the outcome of his story.
