Critic reviews

“[A] publishing phenomenon…[Sherrilyn Kenyon is] the reigning queen of the wildly successful paranormal scene. . .Just one example of arguably the most in-demand and prolific authors in America these days.” —Publisher's Weekly

“Kenyon's writing is brisk, ironic, sexy, and relentlessly imaginative. These are not your mother's vampire novels.” —The Boston Globe

Amazing!

Amazing! This is my first time reading or listening to a story from this author. Night Pleasures is the first book to a brand new series called Dark-Hunter. This is Amanda and Kyrian's story. Kyrian of Thrace, a former Macedonian Commander, had been tortured and killed. Now he serve Artemis in exchange for one act of vengeance against him. Amanda has recently been dumped by her boyfriend after he finds out just how odd her family is. I love how they was drawn to each other and how right it felt. Night Pleasures will sink it's hooks into you and wont let you go. I had the audio version of this story. I find that Carrington MacDuffie did a wonderful job with each character. I can't wait to either read or listen to more of this series. Keep up the amazing work!

Good Story HORRIBLE narrator.

I've read this whole series. I decided to listen to the audiobooks while at work. I love Sherry's writing.

This narrator mispronounced several words. Not just difficult words but common words as well. Her accents are so bad that it would have been easier to listen to had she not tried at all. Whatever the narrator was paid to do this was too much.

I will only ever spend credits to buy books from this series that Holter Graham narrates.

Night Pleasures

The first time I read this was ten years ago in paperback. I am going to re-read the whole set by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I know I will love them all again. This is the first book after the introduction with Julian. Here is his friend Kyreian. A prince warrior in his original time line and now a Dark Hunter for Artemis. This will give you more of a history of why these hunters are here and fighting for humanity. And now listening to it I have started the whole series again.

just okay

the narration was on point. but this story is just okay. theres nothing amazing or terrible about it. from the world-building to the character development, this story was across the board average. I thought the sex scenes were kind of laughable, but thats not really a big deal. overall I doubt I'll read anymore of this series unless someone can convince me it gets better.

Good story.....bad accent! :-)

I really enjoyed the story line. The only complaint would be the bad New Orleans (I'm assuming that what the narrator was going for!) accent of Amanda & her family. I couldn't tell if they were transplants from deep Georgia that were trying for the NOLA sound or what. Being a Southern girl...I found it a bit annoying. But the story line made up for it. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

What a man!

I think this is the man all women dream about. I not into romance but this was pretty good. The book added the supernatural to the romance or I would not have listened to it. I may even go on to book 2. I love listening to a good series and there are 20 in all. So we'll see.

Definitely not my favorite

I usually love all things sherrilyn Kenyon but this story, one of her firsts, just doesn't read well. Maybe I'm bias or maybe it's like all beginnings where it's rough the more you reread/listen. Meshes come along way since this story. Not a fan of the narrator, she did a better job in Julian and graces story

Good Enough Story, ATROCIOUS NARRATION

The narrator does not bring the story to life, instead I feel like my grandmother is reading it me & with the sex scenes in this book, it just makes me cringe. She mispronounces many of the words especially the Greek ones, I feel like there was no editor or feedback given to her during the recording. Her male voices are not realistic at all just sounds like me when I’m trying to mock my husband. Save your Credits and read the eBook instead.
