Publisher's summary

Once a devoted children's librarian, Jane Jameson now works at a rundown occult bookstore. Once a regular gal, she's now a vampire. And instead of a bride, she's an eternal bridesmaid -- which leads her to question where exactly her relationship with her irresistibly sexy sire, Gabriel, is headed. Mercurial, enigmatic, apparently commitment-phobic vampires are nothing if not hard to read. While Jane is trying to master undead dating, she is also donning the ugliest bridesmaid's dress in history at her best friend Zeb's Titanic-themed wedding. Between a freaked-out groom-to-be, his hostile werewolf in-laws, and Zeb's mother, hell-bent on seeing Jane walk the aisle with Zeb, Jane's got the feeling she's just rearranging the proverbial deck chairs.

Meanwhile, Half Moon Hollow's own Black Widow, Jane's Grandma Ruthie, has met her match in her latest fiance. He smells like bad cheese and has a suspicious history of dead spouses. But Jane's biting her tongue. After all, would a nice girl really think she has a future with a vampire?

Love this series

Although the characters are supernatural beings, the story is relatable with dynamic characters. The story is compelling and complex enough with quippy humor and sarcasm which I love.

Snarky Hijinks

So I really like the Jane Jameson series. They're witty, snarky, and generally hilarious. This book with Jane's best friend getting married was really funny. From the over the top wedding stuff to the lengths Mama Ginger went to were really quite funny. I liked the progression of Jane and Gabriel's relationship and Dick Cheney and Andrea's dance around each other. The narrator is a perfect match for the material.

A Bit of Fun

The narration is so excellent it fills in the weaker spots in this story line.

You Will Laugh Out Loud, Be Prepared

This is just a great funny listen. I could relate to all the characters, and the situations were hysterical. I loved the romance too. Ms. Harper gets the whole southern thing just right. Loved it and want much more. However, don't listen in public if you are easily embarrassed by laughing out loud. Or eye rolling. Or smirking in sympathy.

You've got to love Jane

Jane who is funny, sarcastic, smart and squeamish about drinking blood from a live blood donor now has a night live now. Vampirism is not as lonely as it once was. She has a love interest, granted she has to school him to the 21st century. Her social calendar is busy and she has yet to deal with the family and her new life status.

A laugh out loud read

The art of writing is to develop a story with characters that the reader can 1. connect with on a person level and 2. care about. Ms. Harper has more than surpassed that goal. Not only is the story interesting and compelling and the characters well developed but there was so much life in the story that it was impossible not to see the humor in the various situations and laugh out loud. I have made plans to read the whole series and any other books by Ms. Harper I can get my hands on. Life is much to serious now days not to have a good laugh.
