Ella wakes up to a world turned upside down, recovering both physically and emotionally from attacks she can't remember. Her only memory from the past weeks is a nameless voice that echoes in her mind, causing her heart to ache and her soul to seek "Him". Living a life without Ella is no life at all, and Porter decides to do whatever it takes to remind her of their love. Recognizing Porter without remembering him, Ella reacquaints herself with this gorgeous man, their explosive chemistry, and the possibilities that lie ahead.

As Ella's memories resurface, so do demons of the couple's past, testing their strength and love. Porter is determined to fight for their future together, but will Ella? As everything and everyone that Ella loves gets threatened, she must find a way to fight the darkness of yesterday so that she can live in the light of tomorrow.

A SLOW SECOND BOOK

Even though I enjoyed the first book, this second one was slow for me. With the aftermath of book 1, you have Porter and Ella reaching toward one another to try and figure out a way to make their romance work. I don't want to give anything away, but because of the condition of the heroine, the reader revisits Porter and Ella's relationship anew. That weighed down the romance for me, because stages they had already experienced had to be forged through again. Also, there was a lot of forging through when it came to the mundane daily tasks that got boring for me. Ella working in her store, Porter driving 2 hours to visit her, Ella finding a new apartment, Porter traveling 2 hours to visit her, Ella having lunch with her sister, Porter traveling 2 hours to visit her…(oh then Ella travels 2 hours to visit Porter) LOL----That's how the setting felt to me--back and forth.

The danger and mystery brought about from Kyle, the ex-boyfriend, was completely frightening. How scary it must have felt to find out that the man you lived with for 4 years presented a complete farce in the way he felt for you. Even though Porter and Ella still have to figure out their living situation, and figure out a life together, they shared a sweet kind of love.

This was a good book for people with a lot of patience…..

Beautiful story well told

I loved the first book, but this one is even better! Great story, beautifully written, and you feel so close to the characters. So glad this is a series. It’s a real love affair, the kind you always hope to find. I was really happy with this book and the narrator, who always delivers.

A BEAUTIFUL, TOUCHING & ENTERTAINING SEQUEL

This book takes place eight weeks after the shocking cliffhanger from book 1 and Porter has been heartbroken and devastated but he's been by Ella's bedside the whole time..... ahhh true love. Sadly, things didn't go right and my emotions were constantly being put on high alert during this listen, whether it was joy and happiness, anger and sadness, fear and dread or just to bask in their beautiful relationship.

Anie Michaels created the perfect Hero when she made Porter as he was so so thoughtful, kind, sexy, loving, supportive, handsome... oh I've got to stop myself from gushing here but he was mouth-wateringly perfect. The story drew me into their world and didn't let me go as it took me through their heartache, their pain, their fear, their happiness until eventually, and finally, their HEA.

Worth a credit? If you like a well described and well narrated story that had a H/H that don't lie, don't argue, have no secrets, would sacrifice themselves for one another, are very much in love and show it with plenty of sex. Also, there's a bitter violent ex who's a constant threatening presence, great secondary characters, drama and a climactic ending then this book is for you. This sequel left me purrrring and was definitely worth my credit.

Shold have follow my own advice to pass

The first book left us in a cliff hanger situation with Ella having amnesia and she not remembering anything that happened in the entire book -- the end. Okay, so I'll admit to being curious, and we know what killed the cat. This book is 10hrs, the central tension was resolved in the first 30 minutes, then 9 hours of rambling through God awful dialog. If I had 10 cents for every time the Ella and Porter declared their love to each other, I would fund my audible reading library for life. It is a pity, because I do see flashes of talent in Ms. Michaels. She has just go to work on dialog and develop depth in her characters.

As a second book, this was a big yawn. Put up a hand if you didn't think everything wasn't perfectly predictable. Anyone? Anyone? I thought not. I went through the middle nine hour desert hoping for something but only barely mediocre conflict poured into my ears. She relies on too cliched devices: letters (for example). Michaels has to amp up the tension, there is only so many times the two can fall into bed even for a romance novel.

If you read book one, then okay, do as I did. Flip a coin. But it would save you 10 hours if you just say, "self, how would I want this to turn out?" then smile and pick another novel.
