Night time is the right time….
Gwendolyn Kidd has met the man of her dreams. He's hot, he's sexy, and what started as a no-names-exchanged night of passion has blossomed into a year and a half-long pleasure fest. Sure, it's a little strange that he only appears in her bed at night, but Gwen is so sure he's the one, she just can't turn him away….
Hawk Delgado knows more about Gwen than she could ever imagine. She's gorgeous, headstrong, and skittish about relationships. But Hawk is facing his own demons, demons that keep him from connecting with anyone. Yet when Gwen is drawn into Denver's lethal underground scene, Hawk's protective nature comes out full force. The problem is, when Gwen gets a dose of Hawk's Alpha attitude in the daylight, she's not so sure he's the one anymore….

"There is something about them [Ashley's books] that I find crackalicious." (DearAuthor.com)
"[Kristen] Ashley captivates." (Publisher's Weekly).
Nothing the female lead did throughout this book was remotely realistic.
Someone who can perform a realistic male voice, or a least someone who doesn't take what is supposed to be a sexy soft male voice and make it sound like a teenage girl.
Anger that I wasted a credit on this, then relief when I remembered I could return it.
Like the worst of Kristen Ashley's female characters she beat's herself up for not understanding something her "Man" never bothered to tell her, throws herself at his feet (figuratively, they each do it in different but equally mind numbing ways) and grovels for forgiveness. I spent half the time yelling "Tell him to F*** Off"and "You dumb b**** call the cops", the rest on fast forward. I just finished the book and I can't remember how the "crime", because there is always a "crime" in a Kristen Ashley novel, ended. Anybody go to jail? Nevermind.
This was a nice story. Found the main character a little dense that she wasn't aware she was flirty with every man she met. She didn't seem to know what or how to love.
Narrator, while she had a sweet voice, was very annoying. Her inflections were misplaced and not believable. Will try to listen to the next book in the series. Hope it's a bit better.
No spoilers! Love HOT, sexy books w/a plot. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. I also review in exchange for books-lots of fun surprises!
Mystery man by Kristen Ashley
I began this book with some trepidation as I thoroughly enjoyed KA Colorado series - from that I went to the Rock Chick series – which were a completely different style of writing, plots and other changes. It reminded me of Janet Evanovich and her series about Stephanie Plum. It was good, just not what I expected or desired.
The mystery man series seems to be more like the light version of KA Colorado. I am still digesting it and trying to figure out my true feelings.
Here's what I have decided. I liked it, it kept my interest and was sexy with a plot. I'm not going to rush and redeem credits for by the rest of the series but they will remain on my WishList if they come up in the sale.
The narration was good.
Notes: mature themes and strong language
Credit worthy/$: Try the first in the series. I deem it creditworthy and once you've listened you can make your own decision about the rest of the series.

This is a wonderful book. The narration was a little blah at times, but it still did not take away from the book. I will now add this author onto my list of favorites and read or listen to some of her other writings. Can't wait to hear the next book in this Dream Man series.
Ugh, why does the narrator have to lower her voice and act so much! Story is good and I'd probably get past her repeating EVERYTHING people say if it wasn't for the narrator using that blasted soft and whispering freaking annoying tone. Her regular voice is great and the male voices are good but she does all the female voices horribly. Going to read last 3/4 of the book, I can't take it anymore!
I was looking
Yes!! I loved the book when I read it, but after hearing the audio version I fell deeper in love with it.
She did voices for both and she rocked Hawk's & Gwen's part. I can't pick a favorite. But anytime she said 'Babe'---ahhh :)
I haven't loved a American accent that I've loved while listening to audio books until Kate's. I normally fall hard for a heavy accent being from south USA but this rivals and maybe beats my favorite voice (The Mistress) I just checked and the rest of this series in down by Kate so now I'm even more excited to catch up with a series I've read and loved!
I have listened to it several times. Love the story...Hawk is soooo sexy.
I have listened to this entire series and am completely baffled as to why the voices...set in Denver...are normal in this first book and somehow in the following books everyone ends up sounding like they are in New York. It's very distracting when you listen to books all the time and especially when you like the book so much and WANT to like the narration.
I would change the narrator. She did a horrible job with Hawk's voice. He sounded like either a Jersey boy or a surfer. Definitely not like a native of Denver.
I love Hawk. He is yummy, alpha commando.
Her male voices were very lacking.
Wow I would love to see it made into a show or movie. Not sure who should star.
I love the Dream Man series by Kristen Ashley! I really wanted to like this audio version. I would recommend reading it instead of listening especially for your first time. Just a warning, KA's books are like crack- addictive!!
Love everything about this book and the narration for this book. Hot Alpha Males... kept me guessing how it would end. Love, sex and attitude. I am loading up the next one now.
