I loved this book because it MOVED. Listeners weren't subjected to long internal dialogues or angsty navel-gazing. Right from the start we're treated to action, quality character contact and suspense. Priced right to purchase or use a credit on. You'll be hooked on this author.

Too quiet

About the middle. The story was great, the narration kept going too quiet.

Did Kate Russell do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes. You knew when she was speaking in more of a male voice. But that's also when her voice dipped as well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I felt like there was a lot of whispering in this audiobook. I loved the story and have read it many times. I just felt like I was adjusting the volume too often.

True classic.

Nobody does it better than KA. This is the beginning of one of her best series. Just reread for the fifth time.

good story, bad narration

the story is good, it's interesting. Gwen is sucked into a mess because of her biker druggie sister, and her lover, Hawke has to rescue her. but the narration was so flat, monotone, and slow, it was like ear rape. I wanted to smack the narrator and tell her, this is a high stress moment and your reading it like your on prozac. Can you place some inflection on it and make it sound like your actually alive. Nails on chalkboard. Really took away from the story.

I must say that once a year, I re listen to this book. It gets better every time! Don’t miss this.

what a wild ride

I love MM. he is sexy and protective toward Gwen. He acts like a hard man but so soft toward Gwen. I like Gwen, she wants you to think she us a bit of a ditz, but she is so NOT. Great story, great action, swoony romance. a lasting favorite.

The BEST!!

This is by far my most favorite book, I’ve listened to it many times, it’s my classic go to. Best story, incredible humor and fantastic characters. The whole series is amazing. Most of all is the narration, brilliant, perfection! She brings all the characters to life. Bad ass commandos, hot bikers, and super hot detectives- NICE!

Great Narrator

loved this story, loved how she did both voices..there is of course a romance, some adventures and a happily ever after

Decent storyline, awful narrator!!

This is one of the worst narrators I have heard on audible. Her dialects are super strange and I cringe every time she says “baby”. This book would be much easier to listen to with a different narrator.

Delightful entertaining characters intertwined with love and humanity.

I started this book and then left it thinking I would not like it. However, i came back and finished it barely able to turn it off. In addition to being a rousing and touching love story, the insight into people and relationships especially loss was very well expressed. The mystery/action story was entertaining as well as pleasantly comedic at times. Recommended
