SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH KAYLEE CAVANAUGH

She doesn't see dead people, but...

She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.

Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next.

Should be a Pre teen book

I list to this book all the time think to my self that it was more for my daughter who is only 13 year old. They should make a pre teen CATEGORIES and this series should be in it.

Suprisingly good!

3.5 stars overall! Surprisingly entertaining and original story! Sure, the plot and character development leave a lot to be desired, but if you’re just looking for something fun and different to read in the Supernatural/YA/Romance genre, this is definitely an easy, yet interesting and engaging read. Not sure yet if I’ll continue on with the next book, as I believe there are a few others in this “Soul Screamers” series. I’ll most likely read/listen to some others next and then see how I feel about revisiting Kaylee’s life.

Also must mention that narrator Amanda Ronconi is superb as always! She gives so much emotion and life to all the characters in this book, but especially with her narration of Kaylee, which lends softness and naivety to her character and makes her a much more likable and sympathetic protagonist.

Annoying Teen in a Great YA Story World

The main character ruined the story. She constantly complained about how people treated her even after someone dies in front of everyone. Just because this is a story about a teen didn’t mean she had to be written as a selfish, whiny nitwit. What a waste of a great story premise.

The entire story all she does is complain about how unfairly she’s treated by everyone except her bestie and insta-love boyfriend. I wanted to skip ahead to find out how the story ended, but was unwilling to miss the meat of the story.

The narrator is okay, but she just makes the whining worse. I don’t know if I can take another book of the same whiny teen voice.

I recommend reading this one because listening to it was difficult.

Enjoyable quick read with a twist ending!

I loved this YA novel and look forward to the rest of the series. It was a good storyline, although it was predictable at times. The writer and narrator still kept me wanting to find out how it ends and who was behind it all.

Fast and fun

Fast read that held my attention. The complimentary 0.5 book sure did help set the story context. Didn't research this book at all, so l didn't know what to expect. Enjoyed the slight twists and bouts of teenage love.

Love these books!

This is the first book in the series, and I really loved it! There is a prequel to this book and I suggest listening to it first, it is free and only 2 hours. There are also three more books and a novella, which was amazing. I love the authors creativity in the world she created! If you liked Twilight, you will like these too. The fifth book doesnt come out until October, but I hope it wont be the last! Also loved the narrator, although her voice isnt as "beautiful" as Kaylees voice is supposed to sound in the book.

Awesome Audible!

I have to listen to this again, because my 10 year old son was mad at me for finishing it without him! It was really good, I enjoyed the mystery, the little twists, the characters, all of it! As soon as I can, I plan to buy the next audio book in the series.

As for the narration: I don't know if it's because I was used to her after the prequel, or what, but I very much enjoyed it more than I did with said prequel. Clear enunciation and a pleasant voice made this all work just right with the story! Very well done.

Bob says: 4.5 Platypires!
