Beautiful and fiercely protective of those she loves, Lady Seona Murray captured Keegan MacKay's attention when she first set foot in Dunnakeil Castle. Though she is a chief's daughter and forbidden, Keegan has fallen in love with her from afar and burns to possess her. But so does the clan traitor, Haldane, an obsessive outlaw bent on murder and kidnapping.
Sinfully handsome, Keegan MacKay is a fearsome guard as well as the chief's cousin, but Seona's father would never consider him a worthy husband for her because he is not a titled laird. Seona has secretly watched the sensual, tawny-haired warrior from across the crowded great hall for months, but when he is tasked with escorting her across Scotland, back to her home, their simmering attraction flames into sizzling passion with just one kiss.
Though she fears she is endangering Keegan's life, Seona cannot resist his seductive charm or his spellbinding kisses. Keegan sets fire to the memories of her sad past and shows her what it means to truly live. But her father has other plans. He's arranged for her to marry a wealthy Lowland laird. Is Keegan daring enough to steal her away? Or will the vindictive Haldane snatch her first?

This story took my breath away! It's very well written! Vonda Sinclair is an excellent writer because she can always keep me interested until the end.I'm excited to listen to her next audio in this series. She never disappoints me!
I loved the hero and heroine! Seona has her sight on Keegan and when he has to escort her across Scotland, her life will suddenly turn. Keegan is a kind and protective warrior and secretly in love with her. He will do everything in his power to protect her and win her heart. Then the fun began!
Yes, Dave Gillies has the perfect voice for Scottish audio romance. He keeps my interest!
The whole book was perfect for me!
Look forward to discover adventure, emotion, sensuality and passion!
I have read the entire Highlander series about ten times and every time fall deeper in love the the story and the characters. Vonda Sinclair brings you into an Era of brutality and magic and makes you wish for days gone by.
This book is my favorite one in the series (so far). Maybe I've just gotten used to the narrator's style, or maybe he continues to grow in his craft. I'm not sure what it is, but I like what's happening. The stories are also improving although I could do without the constant damsel in distress at every turn. There are other ways of moving the story along than constantly having a character in danger and it would be nice to see the author utilize those occasionally.
The story was good, but slow. I never really got into the book.I won't be listening to it again.
From the middle to the end had enough action to keep me listening.
I didn't care for the sing song rhythm or the speed of the reader. He has a nice broge but the female voices were, shall we say not his strong suit. Perhaps have two readers, someone else for the female parts. I was manually able to speed it up though.
It movie would be better as a movie.
I'll be returning this book
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
So, I have to say that this is the first book I've read/listened to by this author. And even though it's kind of in a series, it is literally it's own book. I did have to get a clarification from the author as to what a curse word that was repeated was (because even with headphones my hearing was being screwy and I was hearing differently and it wasn't making the least bit of sense but after email back it made SO MUCH MORE SENSE). I'm very thankful that the author was more than happy to answer my question. Despite my mishearing I still really enjoyed the book.
I REALLY love the fact that the author actually KNOWS Scottish geography and that it was shown very much in the book. That was a nice touch.
I really liked the narrator's voice (but that's me with a predilection towards deep voices and Scottish accents). He didn't read too fast or too slow. It was kept at a nice even pace through the whole book. And his brogue wasn't so thick that (people not me and not use to the thicker ones) you're left wondering what the heck was said.
Absolutely awesome! I so enjoyed this audible book! The narrator, awesome! A Scottish brogue for a Scottish Historical Romance, fantastic! Oh my, goodness, a definite must have in your audible library!
Now, to the story...An absolute fantastic Scottish Romance, one in which the reader/listerner will be held in awe. Breathtaking adventure, danger and romance, with Highlandes, Lasses, struggles and danger, what's not to love!
An absolute must have for fans of Scottish Historical Romance! Once again Ms. Sinclair has done an awesome job picking the narrator and compiling a fantastic and satisfying story! An awesome series!

I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Another great book by Vonda that is brilliantly read by Dave Gillies. Gotta say I'm a fan of Scots and listening to a great book read by one is awesome. Vonda and Dave have a wonderful way of drawing you in and keeping your attention. I will definitely be listening to more of Dave, especially if it's a book by Vonda.
Yes, I would recommend the audiobook to a friend, because the characters are true-to-life. I enjoyed the portrayal of Keegan's toughness and alpha male attributes in contrast to Seona's delicate sweetness. Yet, Keegan had a soft, giving heart and Seona a resilience from defending herself and her sister from their tyrannical father. The love between Keegan and Seona overcame many dire obstacles. The plot is well-developed with action and conflict that kept me turning pages.
My favorite character was Lady Seona Murray. She had all the qualities of a Highland lady—sweet, demure, and well-mannered, but strong-willed and resilient.
This is the first narration I've listened to by Dave Gillies.
I would listen to the audiobook again as the story was compelling and the book itself is well written.
The plot. The story was interesting and kept me entertained. I love Highland books and am always looking for something new.
The overall story was good. I enjoy Highland set books because of the intrigue, politics, the land description that transports you to another era.
Dave does justice to the male and female characters. His performance was top notch.
You are never in doubt as to who he is portraying as the distinction is always clear.
I love the moments between Keegan and Seona. The small moments (not always love scenes) build the character and add depth to the story.
I love books where the leading pair work together to achieve an HEA. The road isnt always easy ,but when you have strong characters like Keegan and Seona you root for them.
If you love Historical Romance with a strong female character, a good story that transforms you to a differnt era, a couple who works as a team to find happines, than this is the book fot you.
the narrator was a pleasure to listen to, the story was very varied and incorporated everything. the love between the characters was tangible as was the passion. really good story well worth getting G the book.
i adore these highlanders of Vonda's and having read the books it is even better when its being read in a brilliant accent. i would definitely recommend it if you want to be swept away
