Absolutely adorable.

Pure joy. Nobody writes cuter, smarter, snarkier novels than Molly Harper. And nobody delivers them better than Amanda Ronconi. Love each reread.

Fun Travel Listen

Being a Kentucky native, I found this book enjoyable on several levels. While I was familiar with many of the "tourist" sites in the book, I had never heard of a lot of the interesting little "off the beaten path" attractions. Kentucky is a beautiful state and not at all what outsiders expect, so the way the book is written is a lot of fun . . . two people vying for the top position of promoting Kentucky tourism. One thinks they know it all, and wants to apply all their "fancy" marketing knowledge to attain the "numbers", the other is passionate about the state and what it has to offer to visitors. And somewhere in the middle may be the answer. And as we like to say in Kentucky, the feud is on. Having left Kentucky at age 19, and only going back for occasional visits, I found this book to be refreshing, funny and like meeting up with an old friend . . . one that I like a lot. The story is a good one, and the characters really grow on you.

Short. Funny. No Sap.

What I liked about this book was that it was short, funny, and lacked the sappy ending. It's a typical enemies to lovers, but it has enough quirk to make it stand out. As with most of my reviews of Molly Harper, I warn, it's not for everyone, but for me it's like watching an enjoyable hour long sit com.

Short and Sweet

I enjoyed this story a lot. It was on the short side but was by no means incomplete and the story itself was really cute. I'd rather have a book be short than just have words for the sake of having words. Of course this being Molly Harper it was also funny. I especially enjoyed the visit to the vent museum and the cast of characters in the marketing office was interesting although I wish we could have seen more of them. The story also made me want to visit Kentucky. I've only been there a few times but it seems like an interesting place. I really like this author and narrator pairing. Amanda Ronconi just reads the stories perfectly.

A Little too Predictable

Any additional comments?

This book was just cute. I wasn't surprised by the plot at all. I would recommend it only as a quick read, maybe at the beach or on a vacation.

Absolutely LOVED this book

Would you consider the audio edition of My Bluegrass Baby to be better than the print version?

I love the audio version of the book. I love the narrator, as she has been used for other Molly Harper books.

What was one of the most memorable moments of My Bluegrass Baby?

Spoilers: I think the ending ;P I love that the author didn't make it easy on the two main characters.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love Amanda Ronconi read of the book. She was one of the reasons I felt more comfortable trying a new series by Molly Harper. I heard her on the other Molly Harper books (Jane Jameson/ Half Moon Hollow). I figured even if the story isn't great I know the narrator is.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

not really

Any additional comments?

I can't wait to get the next books in the series.

Good but not her best! Performance is A+

Would you listen to My Bluegrass Baby again? Why?

Probably not. I am a fan of Molly Harper because I love her humor, but this one was just so-so. While I often listen to my books again, I probably will just shelve this one.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Most - Finding her way
Least - The love affair

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Amanda Ronconi is fantastic, and she pairs with Molly Harper's with really well. She has just the right inflections. She really sells the tone of the novel through her performance.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Sometimes it made me chuckle, but not as much as some of Molly's other books.
