Another home run!

Molly Harper made use of that giant bat outside Hillerich & Bradsby in downtown Louisville and smacked this one outside the park. Amanda Ronconi gave her usual stellar performance as well.

Office politics in Kentucky

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend this book because it is quirky and entertaining.

What other book might you compare My Bluegrass Baby to and why?

This cases going to kill me. It has a lot of elements that are similar such being set in a professional office, outside interference, love interest, and both are snarky.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Josh and Sadie are locked in a stockroom by Kelsey after she got tired of the stress caused by they not getting along. This interrupts much of the stress in the office.e

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Very professional and nicely done.

Any additional comments?

Very entertaining, you would enjoy the story line.

Promoting a small town never got less serious

Great story of competition and love among co-workers. Does she get her dream job, or lose it to the new guy? You won't know until the very last chapter! Great fun.

Once again Molly Harper does not disappoint.

My Bluegrass baby is a cute and Corky book just like all the other ones that Molly Harper has written. Amanda Ron coney delivers on her Dara date as always. I loved it and I can’t wait to continue reading the series. I hope that Mollie continues to write as many books as she possibly can.

Always A Pleasure

I truly enjoy every book Molly Harper has written. They may not be great literature but they are always great fun. This book was a little short, and perhaps a little rushed, but it still told a great story, was full of characters you would love to meet and I laughed out loud more times per chapter than any other writer I know. Plus I appreciated that the undead and lycan set was absent from this book. While I enjoy her forays into these areas, it seems every other book is now devoted to one or the other, or their close relations. It is getting old.

The thing that I think Harper does better than almost anyone I can think of is she creates the best sidekicks. They are often as interesting as the main characters and every bit as entertaining.

As usual the narration was spot on. I think Amanda Ronconi and Molly Harper go together as well as Davina Porter and Diana Gabaldon or Anna Fields and Susan Elizabeth Phillips.

Pretty good non-paranormal humorous romance

3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good story. It is one of the few non-paranormal books by Molly Harper and was an enjoyable read.

Sadie works for the tourism department for Kentucky. She is supposed to be a shoo in for the director job but finds herself unexpectedly competing against a slick city guy with an advertising background for the the job. He puts down her ads and makes life difficult and Sadie isn't one to take that sitting down. It turns in to the war of the roses as the competition escalates but all the while there is an unspoken attraction that neither can ignore.

Josh comes across as a real jerk at first and it's hard to figure out what he's up to or what to expect. He ends up not being too bad of a guy though and eventually he and Sadie call a truce. Once the truce is called they have an even harder time avoiding the attraction between them and agree to hold off on anything between them until the competition for the job is over. It's a good idea but things come up that cause things to go off kilter and it's not easy to get things back on track.

The story was good and I enjoyed it. I liked the characters in the story as well. It has a good ending but, in all honesty, I was left wishing for a bit more of the story when their relationship is going well. Overall I did thing the story was pretty good and I enjoyed it.

*note - Amanda did a fine job in the narration but there were a couple times when editing had two sentences overlapping. Nothing major though and it only happened twice.

A light read

Where does My Bluegrass Baby rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would give it a B- -- it's a cute story, and a very light read, just wonderful to take your mind off a stressful day.

What did you like best about this story?

Some humor and the assistant of the main character is a hoot.

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

Mrs. Ronconi did a good job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Almost, but I did have to sleep some

Any additional comments?

Ending is a bit abrupt? and confusing? However if you can get it on sale, like I did, get it.

short and sweet...and cutting

Would you listen to My Bluegrass Baby again? Why?

I'll listen again to revisit the main characters quick, sharp humor.

What was one of the most memorable moments of My Bluegrass Baby?

Don't drink while you are listening to this book or you will be shooting it all over when you hear what secretary does to get even....wicked senses of humor! Sarcasm at it's best and in action.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There is something about the way the character lives her integrity when she's so completely uncomfortable that inspires me and makes me wonder 'what if..." about my own life. And the great humor.

Any additional comments?

The first few chapters have some hideous editing errors that I think Audible should fix!!!! If I didn't enjoy the humor so much I'd return the book as 'defective.'

This book is so short, it's more like a novelette (with stinging humor instead of charm.)
