Publisher's Summary

For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple - join her brothers' band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she's finally ready for the limelight. Of course, she never imagined that stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupies, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose. Jake Slater never imagined that the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact that she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when, after betting Abby that she won't last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake's personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He's never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, and most importantly, make music with. As the week comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart country songstress and a rock 'n' roll bad boy actually have a future together?

"I have a huge weakness for rock star romances!"

First, the narrators are great! I need to be honest.... I am a sucker for romances involving sexy hot rock stars! Music of the Heart is done in both Jake’s and Abby’s POV. Abby, a Christian good girl, on her way to meet up with her brothers' Christian rock band accidentally finds herself traveling on the wrong rock band's tour bus.. She supposed to be making some appearances with her brother's band so she can decide whether or not she wants a career as a musician. Instead Abby ends up making a bet with the famous rock god man slut, Jake. To win the bet she must stay on the tour bus with him and the band for a week. Jake makes the bet with "angel" that she would not be able to handle a week on their tour bus. Abby may be sweet & innocent but she is not going to let this rocker tell her what to do. The chemistry and witty banter between Jake and Abby is fabulous! You instantly love Jake and all his band mates. Abby is a take no crap kind of girl. Growing up with three brothers she knows how to hold her own. She’s grown up in a Christian home and is proud to still be a virgin. She has very little insecurities when it comes to her self esteem and moral values. She knows what she wants and it’s not some one night stand with a guy that’s not going to love her. There's a ton of tension & drama but within the week sparks start to ignite into something more between them. They have a whirlwind romance full of ups and downs. Jake definitely makes you love him one minute and want to smack him in the head the next. Overall, Music of the Heart is a rock star romance about two musically gifted people falling in love.... one person just happens to be a tattooed rocker & the other is a country good girl with a pure heart. The story does have some emotional family issues, crazy ex lovers, sexual chemistry, and first time experiences. Happy listening!

    "Sweet Rocker Love!!"

This was a short and sweet love story. Some of the dialog was a bit corny but all and all a good read. If your in the mood for a light love story that ends with no over done trilogy then go for it.
Justine was great as usual, I don't know why they are doing more and more duel narration, I hate it, It's like watching a movie with two actors playing the same part. I think good narrators make the characters and just when you get used to them someone else comes in a messes it all up. Anyway enough of my ranting, Happy reading!!

    "Cute Love Story!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it was a good story line.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Music of the Heart?

There were a couple of memorable moments - 1st Abbie and Jake sang together. 2nd When Jake lost his mother.

Which character – as performed by Justine O. Keef and Mason Lloyd – was your favorite?

They both did an excellent job. It's hard to choose.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I will keep it the same as the book. Because they both sang from the heart.

    "An unexpectedly emotional book."

Wow. What an unexpectedly emotional book. The book made me smile and laugh. It made my stomach churn (yes, Jake, that one was your fault with some of your horrid behavior - both sexually and otherwise). And it made me cry like crazy. While listening to the Audible version of this book I experienced such a wide range of emotions. Justine O. Keef and Mason Lloyd did an absolutely excellent job narrating the story. They made the story come to life with their delivery of the book. This is actually the second Katie Ashley and second Runaway Train book I've read (the first being Strings of the Heart, book 3 - Rhys and Allison's story). While Strings of the Heart functions as a standalone novel, it was very enjoyable to hear a bit more of the back-story (particularly with Allison being Jake's younger sister). Having now read Music of the Heart gives me a new perspective on a lot of the things that take place in Strings of the Heart. Overall, both are fantastic books that I would highly recommend to anybody who likes rock star romances, or even just romances in general. (You should not listen to this book if you are offended by frequent swearing, vulgarity, or sexual situations.) The book has a HEA ending with no cliffhanger. After having read these two books by Ashley, I am definitely interested in reading more of her work (both within and outside of the Runaway Train series).

    "Enjoyable"

I was hesitant to read because I don't like "religious" themed books. It was well written and without religious "preaching" or pressure. The sex was tastefully addressed. The narration was well done. I enjoyed the female narrator more than the male. His portrayal of the female character was the only thing I felt could have been better. But even with that issue it didn't ruin anything. Good story and I'd recommend it.

    "Nice gentle romance"

"Clean" romance with some sex scenes that come at appropriate points in the story. The author has a well developed plot and good character depth. The story is a tad sappy but I, surprisingly, enjoyed it for the most part. If you prefer lots of sex scenes and/or raunchy scenes then you won't like this one. It most definitely has a slight religious(Christian) overtone. This is the first time that I have found those religious overtones in a book to be subtle enough, & incorporated well enough into the story line, to not bother me. The author also incorporated respect for women into the book as well as men with feelings. This was definitely a nice change of pace for this genre.
