Publisher's Summary

Patricia Rice, a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author, has won numerous awards, including the Romantic Times Reviewers Choice and Career Achievement Awards.

Much Ado About Magic is the delightful tale of a painting that takes on a life of its own. Because Lady Lucinda Pembroke’s paintings have a reputation for being prophetic, her picture of a handsome man laughing as a ship sinks causes widespread gossip. Londoners are sure it must be Sir Trevelyan Rochester, gloating as his wealthy cousin drowns. As Lucinda tries to repair his reputation, she creates a mutual desire as colorful as her brushstrokes.

"A very entertaining and enjoyable historical romp."

This was a slightly different story than the typical 'rogue' type story line - it has all the elements tho, but more. Lady Lucinda's paintings are thought to show the past, present or future but, unaware by her, one of her paintings actually turns out to depict Sir Trevelyan a handsome ex pirate, who has been trying to come back into society to find a wife, and the painting is thought to portray him as the murderer of his cousin who is missing and presumed dead. So he is furious and tries to find Lady Lucinda to throttle her.... but she is one step ahead of him and she has other plans then romance, mistaken identity, magic and humour all ensue.

    A credit well spent.

"Loved the Story and Loved the Narrator"

I actually selected this book because of the narrator, Simon Prebble. I love Simon's voice. I've been a huge fan of his since he did the Stephanie Laurens Bar Cynster books.

Much Ado about Magic was a nice change from the normal historical romances. Any story that makes me laugh, like the characters, makes me misty-eyed and hate to see a story end is a book worth recommending.

This book did all that. Simon's narration put it over the top for me.

As a mother of 4 you have a lot of laundry. Audible books made washing a whole lot nicer. Walking isn't as painful either.

    "Simon Prebble...read..just read."
Would you consider the audio edition of Much Ado about Magic to be better than the print version?

Absolutely. Simon Prebble portrays the best male voice I've ever heard. Sultry and with a lovely English accent that melts butter. Ladies, do yourself a favor and buy this audio.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rochester. Because Simon Prebble was amazing. You want to go to bed with his voice every night.

Have you listened to any of Simon Prebble’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. He is a brilliant reader with a masculine voice made for historic romances.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole book was so good I couldn't put it down. Lucinda and Rochester are perfect sole mates.

    Any additional comments?

One of the best romantic audiobooks I've listened to. I'll be listening to this book multiple times.

"The rest of the series please!"

This was really interesting. I love the combination of historical and paranormal.
I hope audible adds the rest of the series soon.
