Publisher's Summary

With Christmas approaching and wild twin boys to raise alone, Seth Webster needs a miracle. His home is in chaos, the latest in a long line of exasperated housekeepers quitting in disgust, and he needs help keeping his family together. And then it arrives on his doorstep. Her name is Mrs. Merkle, but the kids call her "Mrs. Miracle" - and from the moment the warm, knowing, and very patient nanny appears, everything is different.

Her sassy spirit is infectious, and it gives Seth the courage to approach Reba, a beautiful travel agent who's been hurt and betrayed and is afraid to ever love again. Through the magic of faith - and with a little help from a children's Christmas pageant and a lot of encouragement from Mrs. Miracle - Seth and Reba might just be able to find a Christmas miracle of their very own: true love.

    "Love the theme of love!"

Loved the theme of the book, it is one of love.
The story of a father with twins is touching and moving and inspirational!
Some of the scenes are thigh slapping funny and the generational sub theme was funnto read.

The narrator did an exceptional job with this book making the characters pop and come alive.

Retired CFO, Army wife, Mom of five, Grandma of six, two sons who served in combat, love to read books that reflect my values and faith, love mysteries, historical, military stories, and books that don't waste my time . . . if it doesn't have an ending that was worth the wait, I'm not a happy camper.

"We All Still Need Some Miracles"

Perhaps this is not the genre for some folks . . . but it is for me . . . especially during the holidays. We all need to have our faith renewed, refreshed and to listen to an audio book that makes us feel BETTER, and not weighed down with the everyday woes of life. I love this story of a single dad with two wild twins. He lost his wife in a car wreck four years earlier, and he, whether wrong or right had let his in-laws take over raising them just after he lost his wife. The audio book is full of real life issues and pain that arises following the loss of someone so close to us. The way each of us reacts to such a loss is very different, sometimes very puzzling to those around us. If you do not know God, or want to know God, you will be put off by Debbie Macomber's books, because they will put you face to face with issues of faith and forgiveness. I appreciate that, admire that and would recommend this book and her others to anyone who wants to learn to love more, forgive more, and face every tomorrow a happier person.

    Story
    "Charmed and impressed."

I purchased this book as part of the $5 sale, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting much. It's a far cry from the darker, racier books I often gravitate towards and I assumed the book wouldn't be much different from a Hallmark TV movie. It wasn't. Any yet... although I thought I'd cringe at each Christian reference (as a non-Christian I don't usually choose books that quote scripture), I didn't at all, since the positive messages were so universal. Neither did I scoff (much) at the naivete of the characters- rather, I found myself really absorbed in their lives, rooting for them, and by the end, wishing for a Mrs. Miracle of my own! I loved the knitting in the story as well, I get the impression Ms. Macomber is a devout knitter from her accurate description of the work and love that goes into knitting a sweater :) However, what surprised me most by far was how I found myself blinking back tears on my train commute to work during a particularly poignant part of the story. I can't remember the last time a book had me reaching for kleenex, in public no less!!

This is my first book by Debbie Macomber, and I don't know if this is something that is common to all of her books, but at least here she's successfully touched on the family relationships, intricacies and tensions especially, that may be more common than we realize. I don't know whether I would necessarily use up a credit for another of her novels, if only because there are a number of books on my reading queue I'd like to get through first, but should another of her's show up during a sale, I would definitely snap it up.

    "Wonderful Christmas time story"

Realistic struggles of a young widower, a single woman suffering from the betrayal of a sister and an older couple who have fallen out of love after 40 years of marriage bring to mind real people.
The author does it again! Within a few chapters these people matter very much to the reader! Enter Mrs. Miracle. Her sublties and quips manage to stick in the minds of those within earshot. Her uncanny sense of timing and creativity make each character think he is in the Twilight Zone! But Christmas is coming! Surely Miracles still happen! Its a story that will cheer the reader all year!
