Publisher's summary

Standing on the cliffs of 12th-century Ireland following the disappearance of his twin, Hoyt Mac Cionaoith is visited by the goddess Morrigan and is charged with the ultimate of tasks: saving his and all future worlds.

His enemy, the beautiful but deadly vampire queen Lilith, has had over 2,000 years of experience in cruelly killing and changing humans into one of her own - including Hoyt's brother, Cian.

Now, Hoyt, a sorcerer, must travel across the world and through time to find and train the five others Morrigan has prophesized will join him as a circle and do battle against Lilith's army of vampires on Samhain in the land of Geall.

But just who is the witch, the shape-changer, the scholar, the warrior and the vampire? How will this unlikely band of six prepare and become one with less than three months until the possible end of the world?

Following the arrival of Glenna Ward - a modern day witch with a knack for making her own kind of magic, the kind that makes his heart melt - Hoyt must find the strength to save the world, and a love that knows no bounds.

Complete the circle: listen to all three books in Nora Roberts' Circle Trilogy, including Book 2, Dance of the Gods, and Book 3, Valley of Silence.

"This well-plotted, finely detailed paranormal adventure is driven by richly developed characters, making it a cut above others in this subgenre, and among Roberts's best." ( Publishers Weekly)

what an awesome narrator!!

The story line was mystical and magical! The narrator really made this story come to life. He actually made individual voices fir each character. I thoroughly enjoyed listening.

You'll jump in to the next book, after this one

This is the first of a trilogy, that doesn't disappoint. When it started out, I was very skeptical as to whether I made a good buy, on this book. The narrator has a very strong male voice, that makes the sorcerer of the book sound very old and gruff. Actually, he's supposed to be a young attractive man. The women's voices are much to be desired, too. But getting past that, he does have the characters mannerisms down pat, so you really get a chuckle at times, with his delivery of a sentence.
In the beginning of the book, there is a lot of background to the quest at hand, and meeting the characters of that quest. That can get tedious at times, but don't give up. Relationships start to develop, and action takes place, all leading into the next book. I'm in to the next book now, and am not disappointed. If you like reading of vampires, witches, and shape shifters, with plenty of romance,in an action packed quest; they are all in this book, good and evil, and the fate of the worlds (yes, worlds), is in their hands.

Wow . . . oh Wow!!

What did you love best about Morrigan's Cross?

This trilogy was more than I ever expected. Most of the time I love to reading Nora Roberts for her love stories and such. This story seemed so different from what I usually expect from her, however, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. Most of the time I read books completely different from my older daughter. Of course being a teenage and all, she is totally into books on vampires. This is one series I believe I could pass onto her and she would enjoy it as much as I did.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Every other weekend I have a 7 hour round trip commute. Having this series made me look forward to the long road trip instead of dreading it. Have to thank both Nora Roberts as well as narrator Dick Hill for making that possible!!

Story was good. Narration was tough.

Narrator's thick male irish accent made it seem like the male lead character was in his 50s or 60s. Vs the whiney voices he gave to all the female character. It was hard to get through. I really would love to know how the rest of the trilogy ends, but I might just buy the actual books to read myself. I don't think I can sit through two more books of his narration. Story is pretty classic Nora Roberts.

Nora Roberts Storyteller Extraordinaire!

Loved it. Finished too soon. Great characters: witch sorcerer shapeshifter scholar warrior and vampires. And romance too!

Narrator was very good! The brogue fit the story perfectly.

Narrator is Excellent

One of my favorite Trilogy’s series by Nora Robert’s. I have listen to this trilogy at least 5 or 6 times in 2 years. I’ve read a few bad reviews about Dick Hill, I just don’t get it. He did a wonderful job as narrator and made this book with all the voices. I totally recommend this trilogy, you won’t regret it. Book 2 and 3 were just as great, I was sorry when it ended. I wanted more but it was perfect ending.
