Publisher's summary

Dear Listener: Moonspun Magic is the third book in the series, first published in 1988.

You've already met Rafael Carstairs, the mysterious sea captain who worked against Napoleon in Calypso Magic. He's a civilian now and traveling to see his twin brother, Damien Carstairs Baron Drago, in Cornwell. In the middle of a moonless night, Rafael rescues a young girl, Victoria Abermarle, from smugglers, only to find that she's trying to escape his twin, Baron Drago, who tried to rape her. What's a retired spy to do with a young girl whose nubile body and sizable fortune are threatened by his own brother? He does the noble thing, finally. He marries her. And that's just the beginning of their adventures...

Step into this whirlwind of intrigue, shattering secrets, and black-souled villains that sets brother against brother and pits good against evil. Revisit all the characters from the three Magic novels and see what mischief they've been brewing since Midsummer Magic kicked things off in 1810 Scotland. Write and tell me which of the Magic novels you like the best. Do enjoy all of them. - Catherine Coulter.

Tipial CC book.

This is a typical CC book. I run through I few new authors, and the books had no meat. When that happens , I always go back to my old stand buys... I really liked the dialogue between the H and h.

Mind the Times

I read through some of the reviews and many were so very furious, and I can understand it. It is disgusting to think of the rape of one's wife, or someone else's wife, and especially, raping a young woman or even a child with no recriminations because, after all, they aren't the children of the gentry. Yes, it's disgraceful, except that this book is not about current events. This book takes place 200 years or more ago. Men had hold of society, and they wrote the rules! All of these things happened so long ago (even more recently) that people would turn a blind eye, especially if the female involved was poor. Most books have a fairly clear synopses, but I've come across a few that didn't. It's fortunate that Audible allows us to trade-in books like that!

Very Good Read

I have read this book quite a few times and knew the characters pretty well but Anne added another dimension to the story. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I had higher expectations but it was ok...

Would you try another book from Catherine Coulter and/or Anne Flosnik?

maybe

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The whole identical twins thing struck me as interesting. I think there could have been a little more to it though.

Did Anne Flosnik do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

She did a great job in making all the characters sound different but sometimes the guys voices grated my nerves. Every time she said Vitoria I shuddered and not in a good way.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

probably not

Any additional comments?

All in all I was a little disappointed with this book. Also I think the author could have used some different adjectives instead of using delicious over and over and over....

Moonspun Magic was FANTASTIC!!!

I have to be honest, some of Ms. Coulter's book have left me well feeling like well that's two days of my life I'll never get back. Moonspun drew me in from the very begining. I was hooked the characters were well developed and made me care about their happiness. I wish the group of rapist had been punished but the book was still fantastic... Definately worth buying.

A lot of rape

This book starts with the rape of a young girl by 8 men in hoods and continues on to tell the story of a pig headed man who doesn't listen to his wife when she says no to sex. Of course he convinces her (by kissing her in just the right place) that "no" means "yes," then steals her fortune, and they go on to fall madly in love, solve the crime and live happily ever after. This is one of those books that gives historical romance a bad name. Personally? I'm not an Anne Flosnik fan either and probably would not have ordered this had I realized her nasal voice would have to be tolerated. I almost stopped listening after the first twenty minutes but decided to finish so I could honestly warn other romance fans that this one is problematic.
