Publisher's summary

This 10th novel in Robyn Carr’s New York Times best-selling series features scruffy-looking ex-Navy gynecologist Aiden Riordan and prickly lawyer Erin Foley. While each just wants to get away from it all for the summer, a bear scare, a bizarre concussion, and a hilarious case of mistaken identity thrust them together and kindle an unlikely romance. Then Aiden’s scheming ex-wife shows up.

Featured Article: Virgin River—The Definitive Explainer

Before it was adapted into a Netflix show, Virgin River was a series of more than 20 novels by New York Times best-selling author Robyn Carr. The audiobooks, all read by Audie Award-winning narrator Thérèse Plummer, are well-loved by a wide audience. The series takes place in Virgin River and revolves around new resident Melinda Monroe, a nurse practitioner and midwife. There's more to this sleepy town than first appearances suggest.

Like Catching Up With Old Friends!

Robyn Carr does another excellent job with this next installment on a great series. I like the fact that these stories are about more than just romance. She gives real insight into these characters, most of whom are flawed in one way or another, so it's like relating to actual people rather than fantasy heroes. As always, I encourage you to start with the beginning book of the series, Virgin River, if you haven't already done so. If you are already a fan of the series, this book is like catching up with old friends.

Like catching up with old friends

This installment in the Virgin River series is like meeting with old friends! Luke Riordan is the focus of this book, brother to Luke and Sean (from previous books). Luke falls in love with Erin (super-responsible type A personality taking a vacation for the first time in 10 years ) in a typical RC manner; fast, furious and passionate but not without humor and great dialogue. The women are strong and independent characters. Well except for the sociopathic x-wife holding the gun!!!! RC always wraps the stories in some type of adversity with quite believable circumstances and with a pregnancy story woven around it all. Mel and Jack are the side story in this book and it is great to hear how they are coping with all their life changes. I recommend reading the books in order just to appreciate the characters but they could stand alone too. Its entertainment, and its NICE!!! Excellent narration.

Don't read out of order

If you could sum up Moonlight Road in three words, what would they be?

After reading the first 4 books, I accidently read this one next - oops. Each book will stand alone, but there is a flow in the series and you can learn about actions from prior stories not yet read.

AWESOME!!

Robyn Carr is a delight. This book was fantastic. It kept me listening till the early hours of the morning. I wanted Analise to get hers so badly. It was great catching up with some of the familiar residents of Virgin River and to know they were having real life issues like everyone else. I think that is what gives these books such likability, to revisit old friends and to know they haven't had a fairytale ending, but are still being challenged by every day life happenings. Erin was an awesome heroine, when it came down to clutch time, she proved she hadn't lost her take charge attitude, like a mama lioness, she was cornered and came out fighting. Bravo!! Great Listen!!

Every book in this series is equally amazing...

Erin (Marcy's sister from book 4) goes to Virgin River for vacation. She meets Aidan Riordan and some very interesting things happen (crazy ex wife, surprise birth). Every Virgin River story has amazing romance, hot sex and a truly interesting story. This story is just another Robyn Carr hit perfectly narrated by the best narrator ever: Therese Plummer. If you like romance book then you need to read all this series in order. You will enjoy every second.

Thank God Robyn Carr never runs out of characters

I like all of the books I have bought by this author. This is one of the better ones. I will listen to this story more than once. It is genuinely funny. I appreciate this authors ability to unfold the story at just the right pace. This is a great addition to my Audible Library. Thank you.

Wonderful

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Great character and plot development with just the right balance of adventure and romance, and reference to characters developed in previous books to build substance, context and plot development without compromising the integrity of this storyline. Once you have read one book in this series you will be anxious for the next. It doesn't really matter which order you read or listen to them in - each book stands alone.

I'm running out of words

I loved this installment so much. Aiden's story really was a crazy ride. From how he met Erin to all the drama that ensued. This is the first book I factually found I had some bad feelings towards Melinda. But Robynn showed the humanity in Mel by showing her broken then on the road to healing. This also showed Jack as the most loving and protective hero ever. Sometimes saying no is the best kind of love. Oh the sweet friendship between Art and his little lady friend so sweet. So many other elements had me smiling and crying and laughing. I just can't get enough.

series just gets better

May contain spoilers.
I've read many series where the author seems boarded or burned out as the series progresses and I stop following. The exact opposite is true in this series.
The author explores emotions and life experiences, such as infertility, adoption, the loss of the ability to bear children and issues related to adults with special needs, without making such themes overwhelm the story. She rightfully develops the relationship of the main characters in a realistic and emotionally mature way and keeps them in the forefront while adding themes to enhance, not detract from the story.
I highly recommend this series for mature adults who wants to read romance without insulting your intelligence!
