I'm proud to be a bookaholic...addicted, obsessed, passionate!!! My favorite way to relax & escape reality....
Mine begins just where Real left off. Remy has his Brooke back and they are off for the next season in The Underground. But they still have the challenges of his mood changes and Scorpion isn’t history yet. They both are finally happy together and things are finally solid between them. But then a life-changing event occurs and force them to be apart for some time. And with the distance comes insecurity. Brooke starts to feel insecure about all the groupies, about the fighting and everything that comes with it. The boxer who has fallen utterly and totally in love with Brooke Dumas. Possessive as ever, Rem is fighting and training for the biggest fight of his life. With Brooke by his side he’s just invincible. But life gets in the way and as a unit they need to fight much darker parts of him that threaten to take him under. This book was good. There was a few times when Brooke irritated the hell out of me, but Remy, oh-sweet-and-sexy-Remy, he made it all worth it. It was a bit predictable, but the steam was all there and it was also sweet & romantic with no end. If you liked the first one, YOU HAVE to buy this one.
I loved book 1, but this one just blew my mind and heart away! The worst part about it was that it ended--seriously, I want to know these people and travel with them to the underground boxing, and, if I'm being honest, I want a Riptide of my own, issues and all. The intense love between Remy and Brooke was that gut wrenching soul stirring love. Katy Evans delivers a deeply emotionally driven continuation of Brook and Remy's relationship and how things unfold professionally and personally for them. Listening to what happens when a person finds someone that makes them love so hard they get crazy was a pleasure and my delight! A credit well spent! Bravo Katy Evans, Bravo!!!!!
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
Just when you think the story of Remy and Brooke can't get any better, it sooooo does!
I felt so sorry for Brooke, as she learned what Remy was going through when she wasn't around. And the Letter!!!! OMG!!!! How Remy held onto that letter!
This was even better than Real, if that is even possible... yes it was... Brooke totally redeem herself... she loved her some Remy... And Remy.. OMG... he was just perfect.
I really like the fact that this book shows Remy as not perfect... how Brooke doesn't just cure him from Bipolar... Remy stuggles everyday... and I like how all of a sudden, Remy goes from Blue to Black, just like that...
This book (along with book 1) felt so real... And the End.. WOW! Great ending... so much drama and action... with Nora and Scorpio and the fight!
So worth a Buy, Credit or Sale... Either one... you can't go wrong with this book. It was AMAZING!
Narration was great. Same narrator from book 1, glad they continued with the same narrator b/c I simply loved Remy's voice... especially when he was in Black.. so smexy!!!
I do not just want to read books; i wish i could climb in and live there.
Captivating! Phenomena!l and Raw.
I loved it from start to finish. Katy is a great author and what a story…If you haven't read REAL do yourself a favour …I can never get enough.
Charlotte is a great narrator and I also loved her in REAL.
Yes! Both. This is a true love story that pulls you in and never lets you go.I always feel like I'm there with them. It has ups and downs. What every girl dreams her boyfriend should do to win her heart. Remy is just so passionate its like he really is a Lion. I could go on. A truly superb read. 10 out of 5 stars for me.
I love this series so much! Please Katy Evans never stop writing! Remy and Brooke are so good together and even when they are apart you still love them. You see them grow and love so intensely. While I was reading I kept thinking saying "I love you" to each other just wasn't enough… They really are each others glue. Remy the protective Lion and Brooke his Lioness. <3 <3 <3 Can't wait for Remy!!!!!
I've been an avid reader since I was a child. I love different types of writing styles and I am never afraid to try new authors.
I wasn't sure if this book would stand up to the 1st one, but I loved it just as much. There were scenes that had my skin crawling and scenes that melted my heart. I am excited to listen to book 3 & 4. This is definitely a book that I will be listening to again.
I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
Most people loved this book and the series but I just could not connect.
I really wanted to like this book. I really did. But I should have known as I did not like the first Real very much. But I made the mistake of buying both so I decided to listen. This one was worse..
Here's what I did not like:
1. This time Brooke was whiney, stupid horny and jealous. I do not find these to be endearing qualities in a character and wanted to smack her after a few chapters. What happened to the girl in the first book? It is not the same character at all.
2. There was little depth to Remy. He didn't say much at all. He also seemed a little caveman like this time. No one is allowed to hug Brooke? Uh, that is unattractive and psycho.
3. Recycled story. Nothing interesting happened. Same bad guy. Same stupid sister Nora. Boring. I kept thinking things would happen, especially with the whole "gift" part. Then, nothing. Then, nothing. Then, still.....nothing.
4. Too many sex scenes. (What?!) Yes, too many. It got repetitive and boring after a while and I ended up skimming through the last few of them. Sadly, a lot of people think that makes a good story. To me, it does not. I guess I have higher standards and require an actual interesting plot or a build up to these kind of scenes. To me, it was pointless and made the book silly. There was no sincerity in them. Just porno cheese.
5. Repetition of words used. For example "proprietary" was used way too many times and I just had to roll my eyes. Too much of Brooke explaining how hot Remy is. Over and over. Lame. Yes, we get it, he is hot. It made her sound shallow and annoying.
It just seems to me like the author tried a lot harder with the first book and this one seemed forced. I don't think I will be reading her next ones. I am embarrassed that I actually read this and will not recommend to anyone as I usually talk about all the books I read to friends. This was just BAD..
Charlotte Penfield was good with the delivery of the story.
It's all about romance in my library! I have a wonderful husband, children and my grandchildren they are my rock.
Yes, I love stories with happily ever after
The fighting scene
Yes, Charlotte did an amazing job on each characters
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
This is a great addition to book 1. The passion continues and of course it makes you wish for your very own "Riptide". I was swept into the story like I love to be. It didn't fall flat like some book 2's do. I'm very happy to use my credit on a listen like this.
I loved their unexpected surprise but how they both were so excited even though it wasn't planned.
I love how they both love each other and it comes thru in the story.
yes. It was just as good. She kept me listening no matter what I was doing.
Yes. I think I listened to it in one day. Every time I had a free moment I was listening.
Sorry fellow reviewers. I listened to Manwhore and I really liked it. I liked in Manwhore how she portrayed the woman and her thoughts about herself. It had a lot more depth.
After reading Manwhore and while waiting for Manwhore 2 which had a marvelous cliffhanger, I decided to order the first book in the Riptide series, Liked it then decided to order book 2. What new journey could Riptide (Remy) the fighter and his new lady have? Listening to this, involved a lot of eye rolling and shaking my head. First, I disliked the woman's role in this story. She did not grow, she just became crazier and more dependent. I could understand it in the first book because they, she and Remy, the fighter, had just met each other. And yes, over and over again in this book as in the first, we hear how gorgeous he is. we get it! Describing his body and looks had to take up at least three fourths of the book. (Hey I may be exaggerating - maybe every other paragraph). The protagonist whole reason for loving her man was because of his body and looks. Really? The name of this book should have been, Co-Dependence, A Love Story! Their romantic mantra to one another was, your mine, mine, your mine. This should have been a novel about werewolves.
yes to make more people understand bipolar
those damn scorpions & the birth of Racer
yes I'm sorry to say she hasn't improved
yes but not cry or laugh
loved all three
