Publisher's summary

Still reeling from her young son's death, Jackie Sheppard retreats to a small town in the Colorado Rockies. Comforted that no one knows of her tragic past, she's thrilled to take a job at a family law firm, where she meets Tom, the local carpenter. Jackie's distrust of others hinders their relationship, but they slowly build a budding romance.

However, as she begins to settle into her new life, disturbing things start happening to Jackie - objects are moved around her house, an indentation of a body appears on her freshly made bed, and a bouquet of wildflowers are inexplicably left by her door. With eccentric residents in the town, Jackie dismisses the oddities, but as Tom's checkered background reveals that his wife and child were murdered, Jackie believes she may be the next target of a sadistic killer.

Acclaimed for its strong characters and thrilling plot, Mind Tryst is Robyn Carr's only psychological suspense novel. Delighting fans of suspense since 1993, it will continue to leave listeners looking over their shoulders long after they've finished.

Outstanding book

I had no clue it was Tom until about three quarter’s of the book. I loved it.

A Great Read!

This book has everything - a great story, and a great narrator. Interesting and suspenseful with a plot that flowed. It was easy to get lost in the narration and story.
5+ Stars!

Gripping and a page turner!

I have listened to Robyn Carr's Virgin River series and thought I would give her suspense novel a try. Excellent. What a page turner!! I did not expect the course of events to unfold as they did.... Well written, good characters that are well developed. Wish she would write another suspense novel... she is clearly good at it.

Awesome story!! But narrator didn’t do it justice!!

Love Robyn Carr and her books...loved this one as well, but the narrator was so monotone!! Therese Plummer is such a wonderful narrator!! Stick with her!!!

Christina Traister

I am so happy that this book, which was wonderful by the way, was narrated by Christina Traister and not Therese plummer. Sometimes it’s hard to keep hearing the voices of Miss plummer through different Robyn Carr stories. Having a new voice made this story much better to hear. It was painfully hard to listen to parts of this book, but I thought it was fabulous. I was on the edge of the seat most of the time. Thanks Robin Carr.

Very Interesting Departure

I think I've read every Robyn Carr book and, while realizing that this book would be different, I wasn't ready for such a departure from her tried and true genre. In short, I loved it. I liked the character development and the twists and turns of the storyline. I was initially a little conflicted with Jackie's "hunches" about Tom, but just decided to go with it and now I'm glad I did. Robyn, feel free to entertain/scare us with more of these stories.

Intriguing, Suspenseful, Captivating & Sad

Where does Mind Tryst rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very, very high in writing style, believability & intrigue.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Mind Tryst?

I can't answer that it would give the ending away, I will say this - Wow, this book had everything a great mystery thriller book called for. It was like a cross between Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde & Sherlock Holmes. I liked everything about this book, especially how cleverly the plot kept unravelling & unravelling. From a psychological viewpoint it was mind boggling & I kept finding myself slipping into the place of the main character “Jackie.” Although I do not think I would have been as courageous & determined as she was. What is so sad is there are evil people roaming the earth like that.

What does Christina Traister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I only use aufible books but she was great.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yepper, but I had to give my mind a break every once in a while as it was overwhelming.

Any additional comments?

This was the first book by this author i have heard, but i think i will be coming back for more.

Twisted

So many twists and turns, but I did manage to figure out the ending before the end. Not that scary.

Great suspense thriller.
I did figure it out early, but the story still held my attention as the characters and setting are well built

This would make an Excellent Movie!

I was just so surprised how much I loved this book! Usually the "Escape" titles don't grab me. The strong female lead and the supporting characters really built the story to a great ending. Left me wanting it to be a series with the lead character going to work for the FBI. The narrator was perfect. Even her male voices were believable. Highly recommend.
