    "Poorly written and narrated"

Mind Over Matter was perhaps my least favorite audiobook to date. I was very disappointed by the triteness and triviality of Nora’s dialogue, if indeed it was written by Nora Roberts. I suspect an understudy wrote it. This is not my first read of one of her books. Indeed, I was reading “Montana Sky” at the same time as I was listening to this one. I consider Nora to be an excellent mystery writer and am a fan, but this book disappoints as it is not a mystery at all. No dead bodies, no mayhem, just a troubled, difficult love affair that is arduously unromantic with AJ Fields’ obsession with staying uncommitted.
But the worst part of the book for me was the narration. I am hooked on audiobooks because the narrators are usually so adept at making each character (male and female) sound different and easily recognizable even with the “A.J. said,” “Clarissa said” or “David said” attributions inherent in the written book. Alyson Silverman reads almost deadpan. I could not tell when the dialogue shifted from one character to another, nor does her tone change to indicate the passion, fright, anger or any other emotion. I will steadfastly avoid anything narrated by her. She has a sweet and very pleasant voice, but it doesn’t change to fit the character or the emotions of the moment.

    "Mind Over"

This was not a good book at all - too long to get to the nitty gritty and too long in general. The story was different, but not written with substance. I wouldn't recommend it.

"This book deserves a second, and a third read!"

This story had nice little twist and turns. The story contained real people with real reactions. Nora Robert did an excellent job of making you feel Aurora’s pain and her visions. It truly made me see people with psychic gifts in a new and different light.
