Editorial reviews

What's sexier than a thick, hunky lumberjack? What about a thick, hunky undercover cop pretending to be a lumberjack? In Midnight Run Lisa Marie Rice indulges this steamy fantasy for us by describing Claire Parks' (a shy virgin!) tumultuous relationship with Lieutenant Tyler "Bud" Morrison. Alexandra R. Joseph's performance is sensual and arousing. Her presentation of sex scenes has all of the warmth and care of "Bud" himself. Joseph is also able to capture Claire Park's sharp intelligence and wry observations.

Publisher's summary

Claire Parks has been very sick, but she's fine now - just fine - and ready to paint the town red. Well, pink. On her first excursion into the wild world of dating, she nets Bud, a tall, sexy, good-looking lumberjack. She won him fair and square, her prize for not dying. But after a weekend of wild sex, she discovers he's not what she thinks he is.

Undercover police officer Lieutenant Tyler "Bud" Morrison can't believe his eyes. What's a 'princess' doing in a dance club known for its rough trade? She needs rescuing, and rescuing women is what Bud does best. He saw Claire first - finders keepers. After a weekend of the hottest sex he's ever had, he's definitely keeping this one. When trouble comes her way, he pulls out all the stops to protect her. Except Claire doesn't want Bud at her back. She wants him in her bed.

Not worth your dollars!

What disappointed you about Midnight Run?

I think this story line had potential. However the author continually drug out scenes to the point that it was boring and hard to stay focused. I was disappointed!

What aspect of Alexandra R. Josephs’s performance would you have changed?

Her performance was fine, she was consistent and easy to listen to. However, when the story got boring than her voice got annoying.

No Better

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Anyone that cares nothing about the story but enjoys all the descriptive sex scenes

What do you think your next listen will be?

Unfortunately the 3rd book in the series I bought all 3 and hoping each time I get a glimpse of the Ghost Ops books that I liked

Would you listen to another book narrated by Alexandra R. Josephs?

yes

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story could have gone so much further.

Any additional comments?

No I pretty much said it all in in the review of book 1

FIREWORK, FIZZLE, FIZZLE, DONE

This one was hard to review as i actually loved the concept of the story and characters. In saying this, i enjoyed the start and slowly started getting annoyed with the intensely continual drawn out detail of the characters emotions/thoughts that seemed to go on and on, with the female smarting over being protected and not asked for her opinion, parts were good but i just felt flat through most of it and the ending was quick and over. Shame as it would have been a great series if more dynamic and fast.
