Publisher's Summary

Emelie Svennson's dream is to sing on stage. When a musical troupe passes through her home in Wisconsin, she believes her dream will be fulfilled when the leader invites her to be the star of his show. By the time she realizes that he is nothing more than an abusive bully and her dream is now her nightmare, she finds herself stranded in San Francisco with no money and on the run from the law. As she tries to make her way home to her family, she stops in Culpepper Cove and is drawn to the amazing melodies coming from the Red Petticoat Saloon. The handsome piano player is almost as remarkable as his music.

Charlie Walker adores all of the gems he works with, but from the minute he meets Emelie, he knows there is something special about her. As much as he wants her to stay in Culpepper Cove, the thought of her putting on red petticoats and entertaining men upstairs as Silver cuts him to the core.

As their pasts clash, Charlie will have to work hard to convince his new gem that he will not only love and honor her, but that he won't hesitate to drag her across his knee for a bare-bottomed spanking that promises to warm more than just her backside. Can he convince the woman with the voice of an angel that dreams can come true?

    "SILVER"
Would you listen to Melting Silver again? Why?

Maybe, the first few chapters of the story took me by suprise not what I was expecting and not something I think I would want to relisten. But the rest of the book was the standard petticoats read, which I enjoyed. Not sure if it's just me, but some words used didn't appear to fit into the style and century of the story. Great narrative by David Quimby.

    "A Spanking Discipline Western Erotica"
    Any additional comments?

This story was an interesting mix of historical facts, tough situations for women with very limited options of the time period, all blended with artistic license and erotica.

At first, some of the terms for anatomy that the author chose to use were jarring - but, I've been a listener of erotica for a long time so I am used to seeing everything described pretty much the standard; it's easy for me to believe I'm just set in my own listening/reading habits by now.

I just started a contemporary series by this author so I had an idea of what to expect when I got this one, but I would like to point out that another reviewer mentioned the spanking/dominance element and that plays a huge, huge part in this story.

Once the heroine arrives to the saloon that's when the story really had me settling in. The courting by the hero of the heroine was entertaining and I enjoyed having some historical facts drudged up (some things I hadn't remembered from, oh, maybe 5th grade?) and some things I might look up to fact check because they sounded real, and the author made it believable. That was neat.

I voluntarily received this audiobook via audiobook blast&narrator&author and this is my honest review.

    Story
    "Most Enjoyable"

A very unusual storyline in this book which has some very explicit sex scenes, but it was very nicely written and the audio version was very easy to listen to.
Livia Grant is a new author for me and I would certainly like to read more of her stories. David Quimby was perfect with his narration so the two of them have made a good team.
The two main characters in this book are Emelie and Charlie and they make a good pair.
What happens to Emelie in the beginning of the story is something no woman should ever have to experience and Charlie, as he gets to know her better, knows that there is something in her past that has really traumatized her and tries to shield her and is the kindest and most caring of men. I really loved this about him.
She comes across as a strong woman except for those moments when something triggers her total, uncontrollable fear.
All in all, I really enjoyed the story!

    "Offensive abuse"

It starts with disturbing, offensive abuse in the first 5 minutes. Then the same behavior is repeated and sold as attractive and acceptable, 5 minutes later. Could not listen further...No thanks!

The only thing that Emelie, the female lead, wants to do is sing, that is until she gets into of a little trouble.

She has had a difficult life and decides to leave town ending up at the Red Petticoat Saloon

where she meets the male lead, Charlie the piano player.

There are a few twists and secrets which lead to an overall Interesting read.

David Quimby did well with the narration.

"Excellent read! Could not stop listenimg"

Livia Grant always delivers a well written thought provoking story with a cast of characters you want to know better. There were moments I thought I might cry, others when I laughed out loud. But once Emily/Silver and Charlie met the sexual tension grabbed me and wouldn't let go.
This is an excellent addition to the Red Petticoat series.

The narrator did an excellent job of bringing the story and the characters to life.

    "Love Found..Discipline and Abuse"

This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

The story begins with innocence young Emilie abused by a man she wrongly thought was going to help her become a theater singer. Instead he abused her and took everything from her except her virginity. A hard lesson to learn. She gets away but is in California and her family is in Wisconsin. She hopes to go back.
Charlie is a piano player in a saloon/ brothel. He is a good guy and so are the people there, but Loose with their bodies. He has relations with every working girl there but never kisses or has intercourse with them. Everything else, to keep it just as friends and not to attach.
Emilie finds her way tot the Red Petticoat Saloon and she and Charlie build a relationship and quickly know Charlie treats her differently by kissing her.
What I don't like about he story is the use of spanking liberally used by everyone as form of discipline...not a turn on for me, certainly not extent used in this story...a little light play is ok with me but this was too much. Although the writer handled in a way that didn't disgust me, just not interested.
The narrator has a different voice, sounds old, so works ok in the western...but not my favorite. He does a good job with pace, tone and emotion...but just doesn't draw me i very much
Nicely written story, just not my favorite...so the 3 stars
